Arrived in Ibiza quite early, pretty chilled day. Checked into our hotel Mar Y Vent. Decent cheap hotel, brilliant location. Full of Scottish nobs. Nice cheap meal by our hotel, then off for our first sunset at Mambos. Norman Doray was playing Morillo pre-party here so got a table and thought he played a brilliant set, got photos with him afterwards, nice guy. Planned to go to Ibiza Rocks for Fatboy Slim but never got round to it. Knew we had Cream tomorrow so just a night round the west end would do us. But with 9 lads a quiet night was never on the cards. No recollection of the night. smashed the back of my phone and fell asleep in the hallway. Infamous first night!
Thurs 23rd
Horrible hangover, sorted out by a swim and meal at Ohio's. Few cans of Kopparberg and another sunset then it was off to Hed Kandi bar for Cream pre party. Suprisingly good considering how rough we all was. Loads of free shots and uplifting house got us in the mood. Free bus to Cream drove off on me whilst I was having a cig. So a bus load of angry people laughing at me while it reversed was a memorable start to the night. Cream was amazing as usual, just for being in Amnesia alone. Calvin Harris was surprisingly good, suited all, and despite not thinking it was his best set on the night due to some dodgey dubstep, on reflection Deadmau5 was good. Chris Lake also didn't disappoint. Wish we saw Eddie Halliwell though. Bit of an afterparty at our hotel got out of hand, FAST. Lets just say, it's for horses for a reason.
Fri 24th
Horrible sleepless morning. Lazy pool day and a pint at Pussycat followed by Pete Tong pre party and drinks on the rocks. Some crazy fire breathing woman was way too close for comfort given our fragile states! Few cheap drinks round the west end then off to eden for our beloved hometown night of Garlands. Free entry, great music, great night. Met up with some other friends who'd just arrived for the weekend. Ended up going swimming and getting back at 10am after this night. Not really sure how, another epic night, though!
Sat 25th
Feeling surprisingly less rough, today was Zoo Project day. Foolishly got painted up to get into spirit, without considering how much I would ruin my clothes! Brilliant day and night anyway, the seal pit was rocking by midnight, with some excellent music, but not too rammed like it would be later on in summer. On to the west end after here, spent most of it in Hush talking sh*te to strangers, then got chased home by a prostitute. Standard!
Sun 26th
The big one! Most looked forward to day of the holiday. 4 more of us from home were arriving, then off to Bora Bora and then We Love Space. Only got down to the beach quite late due to slow friends but still had a great time. Ridiculous Space bouncers Id'd some of our group who had to get a taxi all the way back to San An which put a downer on the start of the night. Met some friends from previous trip to Ibiza in Space and chilled in Premier Etage for a bit. Then onto Discoteca for Joris Voorn. Best set of the holiday, totally amazing! Saw Simian Mobile Disco after Voorn till 7am when Space shut. Finally went back to Bora Bora for a cheeky drink and to watch the sunrise. Which is amazing with the planes coming through it. One of my most memorable Ibiza moments.
Mon 27th
After 5 sleepless nights the usual tiredness and mini arguments began to kick in. With some people falling ill and some deciding to change their mind about plans. Up until the last minute we didn't know if we was going Cocoon, Pacha or Toolroom at Space. In the end four of us decided to go Circo Loco at DC10 and met up with the rest at Cocoon at 2ish. Best decision of the holiday. First trip to DC10 and it was unreal. Electric atmosphere and brilliant music. Cocoon was also brilliant. Sven Vath played a much housier set than usual with tracks like Hungry for the power being a highlight. Yet another brilliant night!
Tues 28th
Went cliff diving just outside San An and lost both my shoes and my contact lenses in the process. Wasn't a nice experience but was fun jumping off the massive cliffs. Another night round the west end tonight ended up being the most drunken of the holiday, so nothing of memory to report from here!
Weds 29th
5 of us decided to see Morillo at Pacha after deciding we wanted to go Pacha but couldnt face the stupid busy nights. Ended up being a brilliant night with Chuckie before Morillo who I expected to be awful, playing some really good Tech House like Pleasurekraft. Morillo didn't disappoint neither and really got the crowd going. Couldnt stand up any longer so had to leave at about 5ish making it the earliest night of the holiday.
Thurs 30th
The other big one! All our group are massive above and beyond fans so this was a night we'd been looking forward to since the lineup got announced months ago. Had a nice meal at Mint on the sunset strip then headed to Ibiza Rocks bar for the Cream pre party, then off to Amesia. Sander Van Doorn before them was the surprise of the night. Amazing set. Atmopshere in that main room is unrivaled anywhere. Above and Beyond didn't disappoint neither, and despite playing a much heavier set that wrecked my head a little, still enjoyed John O'Callaghan afterwards. Love leaving Amnesia when its sunny!
Fri 1st
Lazy day. Enjoyed the sunset and a few drinks in the west end then decided on Garlands again while it was a cheap night. Turns out it was 30 euros all you can drink which we all lapped up. Hammered the Jack Daniels all night and heard some quality music, then remember little else! Great night.
Sat 2nd
Last day and night. Had a real laugh round the pool and a nice meal then headed off to Linekers for the David Haye fight. Wouldn't go linekers again to watch sport because of the amount of nobs in there and the fact the cheesy **** music is blasting over the boxings. Still got a bit merry then headed to the west end for one final messy one. Everyone was on their last legs after 11 days of solid no sleep and partying but still managed to pull through. Had an afternoon flight on Sunday which wasn't too bad, so had time to have a nice breakfast at Ibiza Rocks bar and a laugh with everyone. A nice end to an amazing holiday!
Didn't think I would write that much. Desperate to go back now!
