Monday 26 December
Get to New York at around 9.00pm local time after a long flight from Heathrow to Amsterdam – Amsterdam to New York. Get ripped off by a taxi driver but its never the same if we don't get ripped off first day of hols!!!
The hotel is very posh!!! Massive bed and really nice room – can't be bothered to go out and eat anywhere so order room service- bit of a minging pizza and 2 drinks (non alcoholic!!!) came to £40!!!
Tuesday 27 December
Get up, haven't a clue what time it is!! Venture out and as usual get lost!!! Find Macy's and the shops by which time i'm in a really mardy mood !!! Saw the Empire State Building – massive queue to go up it so decide to do that another day.
Get back to the hotel, have a rest and decide to go to Little Italy for a meal – nice meal still tired though so come back fairly early and chill out!
Wednesday 28 December
Much better day!!! Get up to late for breckie again!!! So head to Starbucks!! Jump in a cab and head to SoHo!!! Shops are great much more me!!! Have a nice lunch in a cool bistro and then walk down the road to Chinatown!!! the place is great fun – like the black market – got the most gorgeous Chloe bag! Brilliant leather and is almost impossible to tell its a fake!! Head home after I can't carry anymore!!
Thursday 29 December
Once again too late for the waffles that I really fancied! Woke up to pouring rain! Not a good day to do touristy things we'd planned so headed for the shops again – I Really wanted some Ugg boots couldn't get my size in the chestnut brown colour I wanted so opted for a forest green colour which are limited edition!! Went into Chinatown and got a watch and some Tiffany jewellery.
Headed back to the hotel, chilled out then went out at 9 for something to eat in SoHo, had a lovely meal and a few drinks in a great bar – headed back to the hotel as we were flying the next day.
Got back around 12 a.m - Couldn't get into the hotel room so went down to reception – they said give it another try so wernt up and tried again still couldn't get in – i'd had a drink so became a bit gobby and wanted to know what was going on – it turned out the room had only been booked for 3 nights so I asked my sis what was going on (she'd organised the trip) she thought maybe the travel agent had got it wrong so I had to hand over my card for the extra night.
Got back up to the room and made her check her details – it only turned out we were supposed to leave that day at 6.25p.m!!! The connecting flight to Amsterdam had confused her!! Made her go downstairs and ring the airline!! Managed to get on a flight the next night at 11.30a.m.
Friday 30 December
Checked out around 11.30 – got a cab to Madison Avenue, looked round all the expensive shops!! Then got a cab to central Park – was a freezing day so walked around a bit and then got a cab to Ground Zero – was really eerie so had a quick look around – people were taking photos which I thought was a bit wrong. Got another cab back to SoHo for something to eat and saw Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters!! I couldn't get my phone out quick enough - I could of got £250 from Heat!!!
Had a really nice dinner in a Bistro and headed back to the hotel to collect out bags for the airport.
Got a cab to the airport and shock horror our flight was delayed till 2.00am!!! Really couldn't face staying in the airport and then going through Amsterdam kerfuffle so got us on to a Virgin flight that was direct to Heathrow at a cost of $1500!!!
Got home at 1.00pm New Years Eve!!!
A great trip but my sister is never allowed to organise a holiday again!!! I could have had 2 weeks in Ibiza for the price of the flight and extra night at hotel!!!

)...luckily I have a soft landing budget which will get me out of some of it - but it's note a very good position to start the new month/year in!
