.........So I am in charge of making all this weekend's travel arrangements and football ticket purchasing for the Watford v Everton game this Saturday, and then a night of clubbing and being debaucherous with the Ibiza/cockney contingent following the football.

I go to book the train tickets this morning, and only to be told that I cant book them because I am out of the 7 day policy for booking my free GNER rail tickets!!! (which is a bit of a tw*t because I did try to book on and off on Friday but I couldnt get through on the phone because they were so busy - aarrrgghh!!!) Anyway - my fault entirely so cant grumble..

Panic mode ensues - check out cheap rail or flight options to get us down for Saturday - over £200 for what basically works out as 15hrs in London which I refuse to pay to be honest.....

I havent told Phil yet that he is now not going to the match...

take the merc.

Dare ya to drive a peddle car down the M1

Cheapest way is still £200 odd quid, just tried a few loco's flying from closest airports but still works out around £200 plus train to airports.

Good luck breaking the news  :spank:

I broke the news last night - as expected went down like the provervial lead balloon....

It actually went down worse with the London/Ibiza contingent that it did with Phil.

I swear if I could kick myself I would. This would never have happened if this had been travel I had been arranging for someone at work but I have just been flaky because its my own personal travel and that is the annoying thing....

On the plus side (according to Phil)
  • Match is on TV
  • We wont be staying across the road from TopShop therefore negating the need for me to be spending a fortune in London
  • Neither of us can get Monday off work - so no recovery time
Oh and Phil is going to take me out for a lovely posh dinner on Sat night now to make up for my disappointment and annoyance at screwing up...

(I have such a wonderful husband!!)

Obviously, if you're still alive!

...and you underestimated him (not to mention, labeling him a killer 8O )

Yeah that was a tad OTT but you never know how a husband may or may not react when it comes to missing out on attending a football game in person as opposed to watching on TV ...... I tell thee - it could have gone either way........
