This year at the youthful age of 38 I went to Ibiza for the first time8)
My stay on the white isle was from 29th Sept to 6th Oct, with after a major cutback on funds only had the one clubbing night planned, Creams closing at Amnesia.
I flew out with one other friend amidst the problems of the spanish strikes, but luckily everything went smoothly till we arrived in Ibiza.
I booked through spotlight the coach transfers to my hotel Fiesta club Don Toni in PDB. The info desk told us which bus to catch, which turned out incorrect as that bus wasn't even going through PDB. The info desk then gave us another number bus, which also turned out incorrect:x Due to the heat I was getting a little annoyed by now so jumped into one of the many taxis sat outside the airport, which charged a lovely air conditioned 6 euros8)
Arriving at the hotel we were informed that they had no booking for us, despite me having the email confirmation from spotlight. So while the hotel staff contacted spotlight to sort this out we waited in the lobby, panicking that we wouldn't have a room!
Finally sorted after a fax sent from spotlight we got our rooms and unpacked.
Our first night was a quiet one spent at the hotel trying to enjoy the hotel entertainment and playing bingo of all things lol
Day 2 was a quick walk to the nearby spar shop in the morning to buy some water and snacks then back to the hotel for sun lounging and the odd swim as we didn't want to overdo things as tonight we were going to Amnesia.
After a nap after dinner we met some friends at Murphys, had a quick drink there before moving up the road to Marina's Cocktail Bar and drinking multiple Mojito's and Tequila Sunrises, before finally catching the disco bus to Amnesia.
We started off in the terrace listening to Prydz who was ok, while drinking the most expensive bottle of bud ever!!!! 11 frickin euro's each:x
We had our own party prescription with us so luckily managed to save some cash there, but with these kicked in we were wondering when Paul Van Dyke was coming on as Prydz had been on for ages which was when we discovered he was already playing in the main room lol (we were mashed!!)
The tunes in the main room were banging and the atmos in there was kicking, also the room was loads cooler than the terrace, which for me who sweats for the hell of it was loads more comfortable.
Unfortunately our night at Amnesia drew to a close when one of my friends was suffering a little from the party food so we missed Eddie halliwell and got a taxi back to PDB. Although short n sweet we loved it in Amnesia.
Day 3 was a very quiet day for us chilling by the pool.
Day 4 In the morning got the bus to Ibiza town for a wander round, at lunchtime we met with our friends (who we went to Cream with) in Bora Bora as they were flying out that afternoon, when they had to leave we went back to our hotel for a nap then some dinner before heading out to Marina's again for a night of cocktails.
Day 5 was a quiet day again by the pool, as we were suffering a little from yesterdays drinking, until at some point in the afternoon Ushaia's closing party kicked off which was right out the back of our hotel. We didn't go to it as we didn't need to the music was so loud where we were led by the pool, you could still feel the bass thumping your chest8)
Day 6 another quiet day as my friend wasn't feeling too good, so spent that again laid by the pool. That night was bora bora's closing party which I wanted to go to, but my friend wanted to sleep instead, so gave it a miss.
Day 7 I went for a huge walk around PDB, even walked the full length of the beach, on my way back to the hotel I stopped off and got a Jet special edition burger from the Jet Riviera Pizzeria which even though costing 7 euro's was superb burger lol That night as we were leaving the following morning I wanted to go back to Marina's to grab a few more cocktails and managed to get some free tequila slammers after giving the bar staff a fairly healthy tip for the excellent drinks and service we got there.
So thats pretty much what we did out there for our week, only spent about 350 euro's too which I was pleased at8) Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Don Toni, the staff were excellent and the food was good.
We didn't get to San An to view the sunset, but I did get some awesome sunset pics of the colourful sky one evening from our hotel, but did get get some sunrise pics from PDB beach one morning, I'll get these on here somehow
I'm already planning going back next year about the same time, but as there is going to be a larger group of us we're looking to get a private villa instead, so we can enjoy the pool more without listening to kids crying, which for me was the only downside, especially when that same kid that cried loads was on the same flight home and still bloody crying!!!
