My Amsterdam Review

Arrived at Amsterdam airport at around 9am and decided to get the tram over to Central Station. This was okay until we stood in the wrong que for about 10 mins and then Joey decided that he wanted to pay by card as he had no change and then thought that they didnt take cards when we'd got to the front of the que so that was another 10 mins or so wasted. He got change and then went back only to discover he could of used his card afterall .

Got on the tram and arrived about 10 mins after so that was good. Jumped in a taxi which was very polite and arrived at the hotel about 10 mins after.

The hotel was on one of the most famous streets for designer clothes, there was Gucci, you name it - the lot. Our little hotel at the end was okay for the destination but i think we must have been given the shittest room in the whole hotel , we had a twin room so we had to push the beds together and the toilet systern leaked on your back. I think i was a little overtired at this point and i just cried :?.

We went for a little stroll and the first thing i noticed which was going to really annoy me was the amount of people on bikes that liked to ring their bell at you to move out the way , the cycle paths are 3x bigger than the foot paths.

We went to Hard Rock Cafe for a bite to eat and cocktail and then went back to the hotel for a little disco nap for a couple of hours before dinner.

We headed over to hotel Stoney was staying at with his lovely girlfriend and then headed to the most amazing modern funky restaurant i have ever seen. It used to be an old cigar factory and once where the ciggars were kept is now replaced with bottles and bottles of wine. I had the steak which was so tasty and we all shared a lovely bottle of chardonay and headed to the club. Me & Joey were dropped off at 9pm because Stoney had a radio interview and Joey was playing at 11pm until 12 - well we thought he was anyway, 11pm until 2am which was okay but meant we missed Stoney playing in the other room.

Club Panama was also very nice inside, my kind of place. We were well looked after with free drinks all night so b the time we left it was one of those where i couldnt speak properly without slurring my words.

Bumped into Petraxx which was lovely, such a pretty ickle thing. Sorry if i didnt make much sense

Not sure what time we got back to the hotel but the next morning Joey said i was hard work trying to get out of bed. I woke up still drunk and tried my hardest to make myself look presentable. Joey dragged me on a 75 min canal cruise where i spent the whole time with my eyes closed trying not to be sick because the hangover had kicked in.

We had something to eat i think it was after the cruise or before :?, i could only manage to eat my baked potato which was rudely interupted by waves of nausea and me running to the toilet. We got ripped off

We went and had a nap to calm me down and then got up at 7pm to visit Ann Franks house. It was so good and im so glad we went. There was no que either which was good because it was really busy in the day time when we went past.

So hard to not cry when i read the desperate letters from Otto wondering where his family was. It was just nice to see the place that had influenced me so much after reading the book in school.

We went and had the most blandest, flavourless curry in the worls which was quite amusing. We tried to find the red light district but just went for a little stroll instead which was so nice just to do so. Got back to the hotel around 11pm which was well needed.

Got up Monday feeling more alive than the previous morning and went and had breakfast in the hotel which consisted of a bread roll and a bowl of musli with a hugle long black hair in it - lovely.

Got in a taxi and went to the red light district, at the start I was quite amused by the state of some of the women in the window and then in the middle I was a little uneasy as they were tapping on the window and then glad to out of the other end. I think I was the only woman on the street at that time. But just to make sure we went down about 3 or 4 times. I practucally had to drag Joey in a sex shop because he was embarrased

We went back to the hotel and then got a taxi to the airport, we liked the airport so we decided to head straight off because we just wanted to come home.

Impressions of Amsterdam - we wouldnt go again unless we had to but it was still nice to get away for the weekend and spend some time together.

Amsterdam reminded us of home in a way and it wasnt like we were there, it takes 45 mins by plane 8O

Lol, i always get annoyed flying there as it takes longer to drive to the airport than the actual flight  Schipol (sp?) airport is lovely though, did you check out the super comfy chairs and massages? 8)

Which bit of the RLD did you go down? The but near the church on the little square? Theres loads of different bits, some with a lot better talent than others 8O ;)

One thing about 'Dam is that you really need to go with people/someone who's been before and knows how/where to go to get the best of it...it's really a really small city centre and once you've been a couple of times and get your barings it really is amazing 8) :D

Amsterdam is the bollocks - such a laid back city and a right laugh (we were there in a Feb it was -8 and blizzards..... still loved it tho!!)
