Hi all
We have at last sold our property in the uk after blood sweat and tears but a couple of bits of advice would be helpful as you guys have been ther and doing it! Actually a couple of bits of advice is a lie as I need to know loads!!
We know all about NIE etc but are the online websites actually legal? I guess they must be if you have to get a notary to sign etc. Also if we go over, see a property and want it there and then we need a bank account- is it safe to do a cash deposit, not wanting to miss a sale , how quick is it to open an acount and do we just take passports and bank statements or what !! These seem silly questions. BUt we have to get this right as we dont want any cockups! Is it possible to open a Spanish a/c online?
Is it easy enough to get an English speaking independent solicitor ? Sorry for all these questions but if someone could give me a list in order of importance , it would help us a real lot. I probably seem like a right thick goon but its not something we have done ( bought a house) in the UK let alone abroad!! Do we need any papers for our children aged 11 & 13 years? Also how long does the process take - its ages in th uk we know that! Do we hand over a deposit immediately we like a place - obviously after consulting with our solicitor there? And how long before we are expected ro pay the entire cost off?
