monza @ privilege

so last year, after the dj awards at pacha we all piled into space for the monza morning session.

I thought troy pierce was excellent, if a little battered and struggling with his mixing, but some of our friends left early because it was a little too deep for them.

this year i really fancy a trip to privilege and am trying to persuade the group to venture to monza - cocoon closing will be way way too busy. (22-29 sept we're going)

basically, will monza be really really deep and minimal (villalobos and luciano playing beep-bap-click for 8 hours) or have they expanded the sound to fit the size of the club? and maybe playing something different in the coco loco room?

luciano and villalobos are playing very minimal at the moment so you can expect more of the same. to be honest i thought there was too much minimal in Ibiza this year.........i like minimal, but it was overkill.

you are better off going to coccoon closing party on monday where luciano and villalobos will be playing alongside hawtin and vath and then go to spinclub closing party at space on the thursday. spinclub was a great night. Liebing, rodriguez and nick ac are playing a great brand of music. liebing isn't playing hard techno anymore and benny rodriguez is an awesome DJ who plays a booty shaking brand of tech house. The music was still deep but also funky and energetic.

Wow don't hesitate to go to Monza closing (and of course.....after Monza!!!)! Monza is one of my best nights this year (for me even best than last year in Space). Its a minimal night of course but not so deep, really top quality music! But not commercial at all (except for example heather and Victor Casanova that everybody is playin now loool)...
