Got some severe Ibiza blues now im back so writing a few words about it should hopefully help.

We stayed in 2 different places over the 2 weeks. The first was Villa Can Furnet which is through Spotlight and the 2nd was a 3 bed apartment in Cala Tarida through ownersdirect.

Thur 1st: flew out from london City airport which is small , overpriced but quite fast and efficient. N-Dubz were there and after trying to get a sly photo of Dappy he immediately saw me and ushered me over to get my photo with him which was pretty funny. They went on our flight but a young dj by the name of Bushwaka! was. Had to get a hire car when we arrived so resisted the urge to drink on the plane. Car hire was done through a cheap website which ended up being Auriga Crown which it seems was the same for everyone as the queue was pretty big. Got a more or less brand new pergeuot 205 which was to be our chariot for the next 2 weeks.
Met the owners of the villa on the 803 highway between eivissa and san jose and drove to the house a minute up the road. Was really impressed with it. very simple but the pool was bigger than expected , lovely views of the hills and no neighbours right on our doorstep.
Made a quick trip to Eroski supermarket for mega cheap supplies then the others started arriving. by 1am and many many beers/sangria's/dive bombs into the pool everyone was there and fully in the spirit of it. So much so we decided to go to Sankeys for Barem and Tobi Neuman at Monza! Had never been to Sankeys and was pleasantly surprised. Felt bait dirtier (in a good way) than the other clubs and the roof terrace was a touch . Got back with the sun up and jumped straight into the pool to crack on….

Fri 2nd :
After some sleep went to figurettas to pick up some friends and brought them over to ours for bbq / pool party although half of them were really hungover and slept half the afternoon! As we'd been drinking all day i couldn't give them a lift home and apparently it took them 45mins to get a cab which would be a re occurring theme through out the week unfortunately.
We cracked on then went to dc10 for pandemonium which was awesome , not sure who we saw but didn't look like tania.

Sat 3rd:
got home about 8am and the heavens opened and shat it down for 10mins but then blazing sunshine for rest of the day. We spent the day getting pretty trashed by the pool and acting like kids. Most of us had mellowed out by the evening so went for a midnight Tapas at Home Loos in Figurettas which didn't disappoint. Crashed out when we got back home.

Sun 4th:
WLS day. although i wasn't too bothered about going it was our friends first time on the island and he is Steve Lawlers biggest fan so off we went! did the usual bbq / pool shenanigans and got down to pdb for about 10 as a couple of us were on a guest list that closed at 12. This was our first time in pdb of the holiday and it seemed pretty hectic , there was a guy rolling around on the floor by space who looked like he needed medical attention! Music in the discoteca wasn't doing it for us so it was the Terrace for the whole night. Lawler played an absolute blinder constantly building it up but no big breakdowns or anything. Laurent Garnier was on after and he was brilliant just not quite as good as previous times we'd seen him. we went doing any naughties so it ended up being quite an expensive night at the bar! Think we left about 5ish as wanted to be in as good a shape as possible for monday

Mon 5th:
This was the day we'd planned to party! bbq was on early as were the tunes. we had aimed to get there around 5 and failed miserably! we met our friends at the Mira Mola in figgerettas who were in various states of disarray. Got a few pints at their bar and generally got laughed at by the italian mafia type lads who seemed to own the pool area there . Got tickets in pdb and think we were in the club by 8pm. Didn't see a set list but whoever was playing inside around 10pm - 1am was sensational. best music i heard all holiday. we were going nuts although because we were against the side wall the undercover security guy seemed convinced we were selling drugs and wouldn't let us out of his sight. Outside was going off as usual but for me it was better inside this time. Last minute decision was to go to Amnesia for cocoon via our villa to get some cash. Unfortunately our description of where we lived ended up with a rather irate illegal taxi driver when we realised we were in the wrong place but was all fine in the end.
Paid full price on the door (60eu ouch!). Sven was his effortlessly cool self as always and i noticed it wasn't as busy as previous years , we had no trouble getting into the main room and finding a spot. There were a few dodgy characters in there though who seemed to be eyeing up handbags etc abit too much. didn't last too long which was annoying as soon as i was outside i kinda wished i hadn't left.

Tue 6th
We all got back at different times which meant a fair bit of waiting on the doorstep which when your in the middle of nowhere can be a little unnerving. One girl didn't get back till midday having got herself into all sorts of trouble in amnesia and again on her way home but she was ok in the end.
Had been in the pool in the sun all morning without suncream and by the afternoon was getting the onset of mild sunstroke and general fatigue. It got pretty bad was tripping out and everything. Must have drunk about 3 litters of water throughout the evening. The others went to Sissi's in pdb for a steak and brought me back a burger king which helped.

Wed 7th:
Spent the day at Salina's was scorchio!! Some of the hottest women ive ever seen too! Was a friends 30th birthday so went back to Sissi's for dinner as they said it was pretty good despite the rubbish service. Steak was excellent but garlic prawns were below par. A friend had the Ostritch steak which was an interesting flavour somewhere between fish and chicken but the texture of beef. They put a candle in his brownie and we sung happy birthday which was a nice touch then after a dew very strong drins at Murphy's we went to Underground.
Was quite excited about this as many peep plan to go but lots never make it. I didn't know what to expect. Wow what a great little venue! Lovely outside area with the music from inside being put through to the garden. free for girls and 15 for bloked but includes a drink. beers were 7 and long drinks 10 for the rest of the night. Wasn't that many people there but it didn't seem to matter one bit. No idea who the dh's were but they come a close 2nd for set of the holiday! relentless dc10 style house/techno that just seemed to go on forever. We left at 5 bait before it closed so we could get a taxi which turned into a saga as again our description of where we lived fell on deaf ears and the guy went the wrong way round the highway which doubled the journey time. Lesson learned , if in doubt take a map and show them it might save you a lot of money!

Thur 8th:
after a lie in and a final pool session we cleared up the villa and gave the keys back etc. went down to pdb for the 2nd time and sat on the wall outside Jet where our friends were staying. Have to confess we didn't go to bora bora once the whole holiday and didn't really miss it tbh. after bait we had to drop our friends off at the airport then begin stage 2 of our holiday...

We cracked on then went to dc10 for pandemonium which was awesome , not sure who we saw but didn't look like tania.

Nope. I don't miss Bora Bora either when I go out there ! It's much nicer to be away from PDB in the daytime .. are we going to get to read about stage 2 as well ? 8)

Thur 8th Cont….
The drive from the airport to Cala Tarida takes about 25 mins. Its one of the bays south of San Antonio and consists of 2 large all inclusive hotels catering mainly for Italians , french and german kids. Theres also a couple other hotels and a few low rise apartment residences. We were in a brand new development called La Terraces which had only been finished a month or 2 before so most of the units hadn't even been sold. This meant we were virtually the only people in the whole complex! The beach in Cala Tarida is really quite nice , its split into 2 by a big rock formation which you can walk down and sit on / take photos. Mix of families , couples , young and old people but not the sort of place you'd be cracking into a bottle of smirnoff with music etc. Apart from the restaurants there really isn't much there apart from a Spar supermarket so again a car is pretty essential.
We met our friends who had already checked into the apartment and went for a pint on the beach as the sun went down. From the beach the sunset is just as good as san antonio but you can lie on a sun lounger with a reasonably priced cold beer with no security guards giving you hastle and no one clapping either! Back to the apartment for a big sit down meal on the massive veranda/balcony with lots of wine / beer and vodka late into the night then off to bed. Had been toying with the idea of going to Space as the Kehakuma lineup was ridiculous but it seemed quite far away and we were shattered.

Fri 9th
Lazy day on the beach followed by sunset at this great little lounge bar perched on the cliff. Amazing cocktails and reasonable prices , all laid out on cushions etc.
Another fantastic home cooked meal then attempted to arrange a cab to pdb. the spanish number we had didn't answer the phone , the english guy cancelled on us twice as flights were delayed so we were left with the number of an illegal taxi we had used previously. he was on his way when just by chance an ibiza taxi with a green light came sailing down the road. As there was 6 of us we needed 2 taxi's so he very kindly rang his mate and got him to come over to cala tarida , unfortunately some of our friends bait worse for wear and being impatient decided to jump in an illegal one anyway , much to the distain of our taxi driver and quite right too.
pdb again seems very messy and we head for outside bora bora which wasn't that busy (was bout midnight) and met some other friends outside for few drinks. Got to dc10 about 2am and again it was going off! Our friends went really into that sort of music but the vibe seemed to make them forget all about that and we danced our asses off till close. Special mention for unannounced guest set by Seth Troxler and Matthias Tannzman as apparently Tania had to cancel or something.
Couple hours kip and we got down the beach for a pint and some food. we went to the small restaurant on the beach which is cheap n cheerful , i had the grilled squid which for 12 euros and the state we were in was perfect.
Cracked on at the pool with beers and sangria through the day which turned out to be bait of a mistake as once again hadnt put suncream on and hadn't really realised how hot it was. A friend who'd stayed sober drove us to Ibiza Town as they'd reserved at restaurant 'Dallt Villa' . Was feeling worse n worse at this point. We sat for a coke at the cafe opposite the entrance to Dalt villa. Was getting the spins pretty bad and just wanted to lay down. Went up to the restaurant and felt like i was going to fall off my chair at any moment , felt awful but not in a hangover way. Eventually cut my losses and said id meet the guys back at the car. Had a lie down in the car then went for a wander with some water and crisps around the Marina which slowly sorted me out. Kept walking past 'Carolina's' club which looked like a brothel , the people outside must have thought i was a punter too scared to come in as i walked past about 6 times! Reports from the restaurant went too good actually , everything was overcooked by all accounts. Think it worked out 47eu each with wine.

Sun 10th
The girls wanted to mooch about Ibiza Town so i drove down. We timed it just wrong as everything closed for siesta! had a drink and some ice cream and walked up to the top of dalt villa . We then tried to buy stuff for dinner but the big Eroski and Lidl were closed as its sunday. We ended up in a supermarket in pdb full of Wana be Geordie Shore girls being really loud which did our heads in so we returned empty handed. Decided to go out for dinner at one of the other restaurants on Cala Tarida , I forget the name but its the one with outside seating on lots of different levels on the left side. Was very busy and coud only get a table inside but didn't matter. Was reasonably priced and again i got grilled squid which was brilliant. 50 euros with 2 massive gin n lemonades and 3 beers + 1 desert , not bad i thought.
The others went to KM5 but we decided against it for money reasons but by all accounts was very nice and not too poncey

Mon 11th
Was determined to get to dc10 early doors so we got up late and jumped in the car to pdb as a friend was goon meet us there who wasn't drinking and would drive us to the club and back. The others went to Jockey Club on Salinas for breakfast which sounded pretty decent to be fair.
Shared a half chicken with chips n salad at the Jet restaurant and was surprised how nice it was! Then got our drinking hats on , we stayed down to the left of Bora Bora generally watching the girls go by. The bar next to BoraBora was going nuts , never seen it so busy with people dancing everywhere! Picked up 6 tickets only to be told that our driver had pulled out as she was too chilled out at the pool to come dc10 and the others were running late too. Got a taxi and was in there for about half5 /6.
Is always fun being there early watching people come through that dark doorway into the terrace , the look of joy is priceless! For once Clive Henry actually played a really good set early on , he's always been bait meh vie thought but was really feeling his tunes this time. Again tho it was the slightly harder music inside that did it for me. A friend was going straight to the airport from the club but our other friend who was driving decided she couldn't handle all the messheads whilst being sober so she left. This meant we had to put the suitcase into the little cloakroom thing behind the shop outside but it worked out fine. All gets bait hazy then but we decided to leave bait early so our friend could get a bite to eat before going airport. This may have been a mistake but seemed to make sense at the time.
After much deliberation at our friends apartment in Jet me n him decided to go to Amnesia for Loco Dice , Seth , Sven and Nina Kravitz.
The Terrace was the place to be under the dj booth , wow what an atmosphere! Wasn't sure who was djing when but didn't care one bit! I stupidly did my party trick of deciding it would be a good idea to leave randomly having only been there a couple hours. Idiot! Went back to Jet where ppl were still up and cracked on , had a sunrise swim in the sea. My mate got back from Amnesia about 8am hoping to go to bed but we didn't let him. Got a cab home about 11am. Cab driver was really nice had a great chat. she recommended Cala Conte which is only 2 bays up from us so we made plans to check it out.

Tue 12th
Got home and everyone was up so pushed through and went to the beach bar for beers and food. I thought Id got away with it but by about 4pm it caught up with me so it was time for sleep.
Woke up few hours later to an empty apartment as the others had left to go home so was just me and the ex with the apartment to ourselves. Walked along the beach and up to a little restaurant with a scottish owner who was quite funny. we pleaded with her to give us jobs so we could stay but she was having none of it haha. Steak and Mojito's and we were done.

Wed 13th
Had to get a taxi to pdb to get the car which was funny as every number we called said to speak to the other number so after going round in circles 3 times we'd arranged a car which promptly turned up. Got the Car and went to Cala D'Hort which was breathtaking as always. Parked on the side of the road behind the barrier. We'd planned a small lunch but ended up having main courses at the restaurant. Before we left we went up one of the paths off the road to the top of the cliff for amazing views of Es Vedra.

Thur 14th
Last day although we could check out any time which was brilliant so we made some bochadillos and drove to Cala Conte. Brilliant beach , quite small but the colour of the sea was amazing. Quite Wavy and looked great for snorkelling , lots of big fish coming right in towards the beach. Left around 3pm went back and tidy'd the place up and packed. Went to Ibiza town for Tapas at La Bodega. Timed it just right to get a table for 2 outside just before lots of people turned up. Good food in a great setting and nothing over about 7euros. Dropped the car off at airport no problem and so ended Ibiza 2011

In summary this was a very different holiday to ones before as we'd always satayed in PDB. I can safely say now that staying further afield can definitely be a good option. The freedom a car gives you is fantastic and its nice not being in the middle of all the mayhem.

top tip:
If your in a villa get good direction / location of where it is to avoid confusion with taxi drivers , ie ' its at KM2 between eivissa and San Jose' not 'its near san jose on the highway' as they are very different

If your getting a villa I'd get one with as many people as possible as its hard to pursuade people to come and visit so it can get abit isolated if theres just a few of you

Sounds nice & chilled out overall :) - tho' the waiting around on taxi drivers thing and friends wanting you to go to PDB rather than coming to you a bit of a disappointment ?

Was the bar in Cala Tarida with cushions laid out etc. this one :

http://www.trivago.co.uk/cala-tarida-31651/bar--pub/aisea-ibiza---terraza-bar-1120503 ?

Just out of interest, where in PDB did you leave the car from Monday through to Wednesday in the second week ?

You still didn't make it up to the North even with a car in tow for 2 weeks tho' :spank:

Yep thats the one!

Our friends drove up north but didnt seem too enthusiastic about it so we never made it.
I left the car in the free carpark on the corner , opposiite jet. was abit worried about it but was fine.
Now my friend is torturing me with talk of going out for closings beginning of october hmmmm...

Great review mate, I think I've stayed in two villas very near your 1st one.

When you leave Eroski, did you go left and then right at the round about?

Like you, only recently started to get villa's after years of PdB. Even though it's got its inconveniences like you say about the taxis (thank god for radio taxi!) I still think it's worth while, specially if its about 8 or 9 of you. You can't beat a good pool party with BBQ 8)

Loving the good reviews of Lawler, I've also loved him this year.

yeah if you go left out of eroski then take a right at the roundabout then take the fist left its a little way up that road and off to the right. was called Can Furnet (is on spotlight)

we called radio taxi's loads but they never once abswered the phone

Wed 7th:

..we went to Underground...

No idea who the dj's were but they come a close 2nd for set of the holiday! relentless dc10 style house/techno that just seemed to go on forever.

Apparently it was the Boys From WEEK END club in Berlin : Hubi & Marcus :p8)

Top marks for detective work Kimjay! I'd given up had looked on every website i could think of. Now if only we could find the mind bending tune they played owrads the end of their set , and no i cant remember how it goes :(

Yep, that's very near where we stayed last year, we always got the taxi to pick us up from the Club de Campo tennis courts. We even played tennis there a few days.

the taxis were a bit hard to get, but we did eventually get through.

ah yes think i saw them! Main point of interest near us seemed to be the Can Noguera bakery on the main road so we tried to direct taxi's to there

Great review.:D:D:D

Sounds like you had a fantastic couple of weeks with a nice mix of activities.

There did seem to be more 'Geordie Shore' types around this year than ever, or maybe we are noticing them more due to the programme!
