Milk?

I know this is a very odd question but I have done a great deal of traveling and always had bad luck with finding the right milk.

Does Ibiza carry 1% regular milk and does it taste the same as the USA and Canada. I know this question is crazy, but its important as I have been elsewhere in the world and its expensive and tastes like crap and hard on the stomach if your not use to it.

Whats the prices like for 500ml?

It is a weird question - what is 1% milk?

Most milk in Ibiza is UHT milk or Longlife, but you can get regular milk which is imported from the UK at a lot of places for around twice the price. All milk brands are available as full cream or semi-skimmed, some brands are available as skimmed. I don't usually shop around for milk in the supermarket - just stick it in the basket - but I think that it's around €1 a litre. No doubt more ardent shoppers can be more precise.

by 1%, i think the poster is asking if its 1% fat milk as you can get full fat, semi skimmed and zero fat (or 1%). Zero fat tastes week and watery if your not used to it, but in answer to your question you can get different types of milk from full fat to fat free

OK, different types of milk in spanish - catalan:

full fat = entera = sencera
Semi skimmed = semi desnatada = idem
zero fat = desnatada = idem

the main difference you need to look out in terms of milk is whether the milk is sterilised or pasteurised.

i've only drank pasteurised milk so thought sterilised milk was disgusting:x.

ibiza is not a 3rd world country, you can get any milk you want there:D

1% or nothing ?

You'r going to have a problem: even if you find 1% milk it will be from Spanish cows. And even if you would bring your supply of "your"milk (or in case the cow) with you ,it would taste different with the Spanish coffe, cornflakes etc.(hell do I know what you need that milk for), and even if you'd bring your Canadian coffee - the Spanish water tastes for sure different.

There's a quiet good coffee on the island and they also prepare it as "Americano"...for those with a weak heart.

With that milk thing you'll find yourself between a rock and a hard place.....otherwise I'm sure you'll have a smooth time and enjoy it.....there's so much to choose for drinking....

cheers!
