That vid brings back the memories. I never got round to doing a 'review' as such, tbh I couldnt be bothered.

I went with no real great expectations, I remember someone on here saying it was crap and full of Spring breakers. Well they were wrong, the Spring breakers were mostly in the keys, not so much in Miami. The Americans in Miami were people that were into the House scene, and loved to party. Yeah there were 'guido's' posing by the pool, and posers giving it the big'un driving their ferraris down Ocean Drive, but generally the people there were there to party. There were lots of europeans like the video says, so there was a real cosmopolitan feel to it, much like Ibiza in a sense.

The parties were great, there are so many to choose from every day. Generally the pool parties started at midday and went on till either 10pm or midnight, then the night parties started, so you can generally party for 17 hours straight if you like.

As we were only there for 5 days and 4 nights (Thank you British airways :spank:) we ended up going to Strictly Defected@cameo on the 1st official night of the conference (tuesday 23rd March), then the Shelbourne for the DJ mag recession sessions pool party the next day, followed by a boat party (similiar to the Tiki one in the vid), then onto Welcome to miami @ Niki beach (saw Fusion inside ), by 5am and 17 hours of partying we were pretty knackered.

The next day it was back to the Shelbourne for the Cadenza pool party which was amazing, followed by a party in Fort Lauderdale as one of our group was Dj'ing over there. It was quite surreal, the promoter picked us up in a Cadillad Escalade limo which seated 20, enroute we stopped off at Eric Morillo's house where he was celebrating his birthday. Unfortunately we only stopped by to collect some more Dj's (Kurd Maverick, Dennis the menace and some guy called Marcus Bigworld :?) then we headed on to the clucb for our last night of partying. As we were with one of the DJ's it was Vip treatment with free booze, not the best with an early start in the morning 8O After 3 bottles of greygoose and a bottle of tequila our night ended at 5 am. We then had to get up and check out by 10 am as our flight was changed to Orlando (again thanks to BA for the strike :spank:) Our 4 hour mini bus drive still rotten drunk was horrendous !!

Overall we did too much in too little time, But i'm definatley going back. The place is fantastic, a great vibe, great weather, amazing parties (especially the day parties), lovely people (the women are 8O), and fantastic music. It can be expensive although I found it cheaper than Ibiza. in some respects, You do need to book the accomodation early, or be prepared to stay in a shi7 hole. I do Highly recommend trying it at least once. If you like Ibiza, you'll like Miami IMO.

then onto Welcome to miami @ Niki beach (saw Fusion inside
8O :)

I agree with most if not all the things you've written in your review.
Miami is great !!! ... that was my second time there at WMC and i'm definately going back again next year!

See you soon in Ibiza... :p

Even as an American, I promis I'm not biased:) WMC is the greatest party in the world and I can stress to all International traveler enough that you MUST make it to WMC. I have been to Ibiza, Green Valley in Brazil and festivals in the UK and nothing compares to WMC. It's like an entire season of Ibiza in one week. Every DJ on the planet is there, the choices of parties are insane! While Space Ibiza is Top 5 best clubs in the world, Space Miami is still 24 hours like the good old Ibiza days. There's nothing better than seeing Erick Morillo in the morning sun on the Space Terrace until 10:00 AM and then Steve Angello rocking it until 2:00 PM followed by going to the pool parties. I also have not seen any world music festivals with lineups that compare to Ultra Music Festival which ends the week's festivities over the weekend. With the favorable exchange rate for International travelers to America it is much cheaper for them to go to Miami for WMC than an American to go to Ibiza, would be a lot cheaper than you think when you factor in that you'll be able to buy club tickets and drinks cheaper than you're used to!
