Miami tips and tricks....

Hey All...
Wow! I am now officially going to have something to look forward to before my Ibiza trip. I was getting worried that I'd become obsessed with Ibiza if I didn't find something to take my mind off of it!

I'm going to Miami over Memorial Day weekend (end of May). Anyway, the last time I was in Miami was in 2000 and from what I recall getting into clubs is a big nightmare! (Too bad everywhere doesn't have the liberal door policies of Ibiza!)

Anyway, for any Miami natives and for those who've been... Any tips and tricks for getting into the good clubs without waiting half the night outside??
 
Thanks! Unfortunately I will be with another girl and one guy... I am a girl. So that's 2 girls to 1 guy... Not bad but defintely not a free pass!

I'll check the site out and become a memeber. Who do you say the "password" to?
 
Two girls and 1 guy should also be fine! Just try to grab the doormans attention with your eyes 8O
The passwords most of the times works with Space, The doorman will ask you "Do you have a password" and you say "the password is" :D

Also, ask at the hotels front desk they also have passes and could put you down on the guest list for most clubs!
 
Im going to be in Miami for 9 days around then.....a kind of pre-Ibiza trip.
Staying in the Shore Club.......really looking forward to it. Actually I cant wait.
Ive been once before but that was for WMC week and the clubs were a nightmare to get into.
 
just a heads up, i have been to miami quite a few times obviously for the wmc (best time in my opinion) i have also been there for memorial day, and 3 years ago this was a "hip hop" week, not really my scene, especially during the day, there werent many parties that i wanted to go to. but at night crobar, space, nikki beach, opium should all be throwing good parties.
 
Yea. I heard that it was hip-hop week a year ago as well. Its not my first choice but I could do a daytime hip-hop thing. Night of course, is another story. I'll check out the clubs you suggested... and of course, SPACE!

Can't wait... I am dying for a tan!! :D
 
Berry - cooljunkie.com is your best source on Miami...but to be best of my knowledge, ALL of the clubs will be hip-hop oriented over Memorial Day with the exception of Space and Priviledge....its the only weekend of the year that I personally would expressly avoid SoBe....

if you are staying at a nice hotel, they can put you on the guest list for almost any club....though again that may not work like normal due to the hip hop weekend....

obviously a trip is as fun as you can make it.....i hope it all works out for you! :D
 
jonbawls thanks for the info. As with you, hiphop is definitely not my thing and I will be avoiding it as much as possible. however, im not really going to miami for the clubbing side of things this time just more for a holiday. can you tell me more about the hip hop week, when it starts and what it involves so that i can avoid it as much as possible. im staying in the shore club. i hope there is not going to be parties there like there is on WMC week.
 
last time that i was there for memorial day it was "hip hop" week from friday-monday. if you are just looking to chill, the beaches should be fine. you may want to avoid spots like clevelander or wet willies (which are normally fun) during the day. i know that you said that you werent going for the clubs, but if you check out some flyers there will be some good house parties....check opium, space, crobar and nikki beach.
