Message from Gee!!

Bora Bora being closed, empty, no music was my biggest disappointment in Ibiza this year. I've been several times to Sa Trinxa, and only on the first day there was no music. I heard a wonderful remix from Coldplay's "Clocks" there.

I've heard some rumors that I believe are closer to the truth than everything I read here: they shut down some places and others not because some of the bars/clubs refused to pay the price of the bribe the Spanish Police was asking! Coming from a country where the Police is ridiculously corrupt, this story doesn't soung too farfetched.

They say that all bars/clubs have to pay a certain price to the Police so they will let their customers free to consume whatever drugs they want to. That's the main reason you pay € 8 for a bottle of water (or € 15 for a Red Bull on the VIP at Amnesia): not greed from the owners, but bribes for the Police. Some of the bars/clubs didn't believe the Police together with the Fiscalidad would get a court order to shut those places down. Besides, they were stupid enough not to have good lawyers to argue this decision - everyone (clubs/bars) should be treated equally, and it didn't happen. Even if they agreed on paying the new price, the Police cannot just give a bill where it says 'payed' and allow them to be open again. There will be a big mise-en-scene before that happens.

But you shouldn't worry: waters will cost €10, a drink €15 next summer, but Bora Bora will open again, and the Police will get richer.

last Saturday whilst on the isle, we were sitting on our balcony trying to figure out what to do with no Bora Bora to go to. We then heard some great tunes and decided to follow them. We ended up 50m away on the terrace at Kiss Somny and guess who was playing - Gee. What a great suprise and by the way, pretty cool place. :D :D :D

I really cant believe that it's over. I may not go back again. No music during the day is just ridiculous. I'm sad that I only had 2 seasons.

I got tears in my eyes thinkin about it  . Sad state of affairs when a canadian kid can't dance on the beach, on a table. We barely have tables let alone beach.
