Hi Guys,

Been told I have to do a medical at work but I haven't got a clue what it entails. Does or has anyone done one before and if so what exactly happens because I have visions of having to do the cough and wobble test!!! :oops:

If its anything like our medicals - its everything..... how old are you? different levels of health cover for different ages.

Your assessment includes:
Focused medical history and lifestyle questionnaire
Height and weight measurement
Body mass index
Urine analysis
Blood biochemistry and haematology profile
Blood pressure measurement
Breast examination
Pelvic examination and cervical smear

Additional tests as indicated:
Thyroid stimulating hormone blood test (for those aged 50 years and over)
High vaginal swab (if clinically indicated)
Mammography (usually appropriate for those aged 40 years and over)

All followed by:
Doctor consultation
Discussion on findings and all test results that are immediately available
Counselling on key preventive health and lifestyle actions
Case management of any health issues identified during the session
Full written personalised report with all relevant health fact sheets within two weeks of attending

A comprehensive health and wellbeing assessment that lasts approximately 2 hours. The assessment includes access to the full range of the latest technology, as well as up to an hour with an experienced doctor.

Your assessment includes:

Vision tests
Anti-oxidant level measurement

Lung function test
Physiological measurement of resilience to stressors
Blood pressure measurement
Resting ECG
Assessment of fitness level
Cardiovascular risk score

Chest x-ray (if clinically indicated)
Bowel cancer test (for those aged 45 years and over)
For male clients:
• Testicular examination

I tend to have a 2 week hiatus from everything before I go for mine.....
