hi im thinking about going to ibiza next year for the first time. i was wondering what it is like in may, like the atmosphere and are the top clubs open and is it busy. i would go in june/july but it is the world cup next year so that takes priority.

Bars will be open but the big clubs don't tend to open til early June.
 
Why not go out there for the world cup? would be better than watching it in england.

Or go in July as the worldcup finishes in the first week

Its quite in may but you can still have a good time as there are people about, would say go later in may if you must
 
At the risk of being ridiculed...

I watched several World Cup games while in Ibiza in June '02. It was actually a nice thing to do in the afternoon (when gathering energy to get moving) or, because of the time difference from Japan/Korea, in the morning (as you're winding down from a night out). We lived in the Hotel El Corso in Talamanca and there was always a bunch of people in the lobby bar to watch with, as well as in the restaurant over by the Ibiza-El Divino shuttle boat stop.

Watched a lot of the Euro championships in Playa d'en Bossa in June 04. The little bars on the side street across from Garbi hotel even gave out free shots when England scored :lol:

So, in other words, you can fit football viewing into a full Ibiza schedule without too much difficulty.
