It has always been a day club for me - half the fun of Matinee was getting up at 7am, forcing your first wine down you at 8am and then heading into Space before 10am......
(Also cos I am getting on a bit I liked the fact that you could club all day, finish off the evening with a Bora Bora sesh and still have a good night's sleep in preparation for We Love Sundays

I loved getting to Matinee about 8:30.. I only started going to Matinee a couple of years ago and can't beleive it's essentially over!
I know the closing parties can open at noon, but is that just the We love closing or the Matinee closing too?
Anyway, often by the time noon rolled around I'd been there for3 hours or so and was well into it by that stage!

From what I've read it seems that Matinee is 6pm - 6am every week this year
Noon I could have coped with but starting at 6pm is just rubbish

If the opening times are 4:30 I don't see why they don't open then..
And especially since it's a 'weekend'... you'd think they'd keep it on just for Saturday....throw away the other weekday parties but keep Matinee!

I know, you can club almost anywhere in the world on a Saturday morning/daytime......but not it appears now in Ibiza

I know... you'd think they would do some sort of gradual change, but to all of a sudden shut down all daytime clubbing just seems so strange!
I don't get it, no music on beaches, no day time clubbing at a holiday destination...but then soon we will hear people coming on this thread saying "ibiza isn't about clubbing bla bla bla!"
anyway, back to Matinee!

Yes... so difficult for me to imagine Ibiza without day parties... for me they were the best there... always looking for them...
i know, i think many people will agree with you. are you still going this year?
I hope I will, but having to do a trans-atlantic voyage for it, i'm not so sure!

Gutted, really wanted to try Matinee this year but wanted to do it properly by starting early! It doesn't seem worth it now especially since I wanna be fresh for We Love the next day! Missed out on a legend by the sounds of it! Gonna have to try DC10 this year just incase I don't get another chance.

so frustrating, my trip will be my first, and has been in the works for years now. Day parties were going to be some of the highlights of my trip! DC10, we love, now i will miss it, and i bet there will be such a bad reaction that they will be back very soon...but i may not

no i doubt they will bring back daytime clubs.
Another idea is to watch all the daytime parties on youtube and think 'this could have been me!"

I don't know maybe it's just in my experience but the daytime parties never really got going until late afternoon when the clubs really started to get busy. I've been in DC10 at 8am and watched the up-all-night We Love people fritter away at 1pm and the fresher people start to filter in at 3pm...
I think the anticipation and the eagerness of people wanting to get in now at 6pm will mean that the parties will have a whole new atmosphere and energy from the word go!
I'm really looking forward to this year- the new laws don't change my opinion of Ibiza one bit- it was going to happen sooner or later.
Let's enjoy what we have, and not dwell upon what we've lost.
I think the anticipation and the eagerness of people wanting to get in now at 6pm will mean that the parties will have a whole new atmosphere and energy from the word go!

It's not like you can go to many other places and club at 8am anyway? What's the point of saying ur not going to ibiza because you can't go to space at 8am? when you find somewhere else as a substitute, let me know 8)8)8)8)
