MARKUS SCHULZ: Review on his show last night!

WOW, this man rocked it last night in a major way. I know I said that I was going to Gabe and Dresden, but the club they were at is SO expensive. I couldn't afford it, I just fixed a buncha stuff on my car yesterday, and Markus was free if you were on the coveted "list" Not like I am special or anything, but it was nice!

The opening track was very dramatic but in a fun, spooky, sexy way. He came out with this HUGE smile, then built us up with no beat for about three or four full minutes.... everyone was screaming for him. Then he slammed down this perfect track... kind of reminded me of Armin's "Find" on his Armada Ibiza album. I can see how Armin and Sander together would complement eachother beautifully... their styles are similar but clearly distinguishable (if that is a word haha!) I was sweating like a pig within the first fifteen minutes. It was one of those nights where you look at the clock and POOF it is 3:30AM and it is all a blur... he made it easy to get lost in the music. The melodies were lush, the basslines were strong, and he had several fantastic climaxes. (Get your minds out of the gutter haha!)

At the end of the night, he started banging some super unique mixes of a lot of the blockbuster tracks, so needless to say people were going out of their minds. His showmanship is fabulous, he literally smiled the WHOLE time, clapped, danced, and leaned over the decks to shake our hands.

Pretty reminiscent of Sander Kleinenberg, but more trancey towards the end and not as diverse. I am still in disbelief over Sander by the way, that was one of the best shows I have seen in about a year. Markus was a close second. Definitely go see him if you have the chance! 8)

PS. Some of my rich girlfriends (lol) went to Gabe & Dresden... they had a ball and said the music was gorgeous. ;)
