mare nostrum & hotel algarb - anyone stayed here?

Myself & the missus are staying at the Algarb in August for 2 weeks..
Never stayed there before but we did ask around & the general concenus was that it was an ok hotel.. nothing great to shout about but clean & good enough to get your head down for some ZZzzzzzzz (if at all possible!!)
Fingers crossed eh!

Mare Nostrum is ok, has a big swimming pool however be warned it is very family orientated, so expect loads of kiddies about.

where is the algarb up for a decent deal, i stayed there last yr its basic clean quite nice infact, very big tho and the chef serves up amazing ommelettes!!

looks orangey & a bit rank?? sounds like hotel playa d'en bossa is more of a do... less kids etc

I stayed in Mare Nostrum for 3 days about three years ago. As Fraz said its very family orientated and depends on what you want to use it for.
If its just for somewhere to sleep as you are going to eat out and go to beach and or bora bora during the day then its fine. But if you want fun around the pool and a good bar, look elsewhere.
They have karaoke and bingo and fancy dress contests by the pool every night!!
