Curious of everyone's opinions on Carola this summer? Has he done any real marathons, or any special sets (example being maybe his takeover for JJ at Paradise or last week on the terraza at Space)? Wasnt in on a Friday early summer visit and skipped Music On for Life & Death this past trip. Wanted to hear some thoughts.
 
Seen several worker friends saying he ripped Space terrace a new one last night.

The size is not so important. Space Terrace is legendary place and one of the best dancefloor in Ibiza if not the best .
 
well this year music on was the surprise for me.

been attending this party for 4 years, and this year i kinda saw the huge jump.

both rooms complete attendance, good music on both rooms also.

carola's sound changed a bit this year from the previous years.

so i think it was a special summer for music on.

again this is my opinion, my friends dis agree with me about this.

but bringing this other sound to the main room changed it alot.

paco osuna did a good job there.

No offense but i completely disagree, the size is of course important. Seeing someone in a 4000 capacity warehouse versus a 500 capacity club room for example makes a big difference in the experience. While I agree the Space terrace is legendary and one of the best dancefloors, that has nothing to do with the point at hand. Seeing Carola on the Space terrace is a lot more intimate than his mainstay on the Amnesia terrace for example.

Space Terrace is more intimate than Amnesia Terrace i agree , but sometimes is good to have smaller party, the vibe is different, loco dice did a 300 hundred capacité club tour few years back when he was at the top of his game. It was amazing . For me(personnal opinion) size it's not important. Btw Space Terrace is more Like 1500 capacity. Not so small

But agree with you a 4000 capacity versus a 500 capacity is completly different
 
@greg1183 I think maybe you confused what I was trying to say is all, I was just saying I'd prefer a more intimate setting, and when looking at space terrace in comparison to the Amnesia terrace its pretty small. Even if its capacity is 1500 the room itself has a more intimate feel
 
i don't see any comparison between space terrace and amnesia terrace.

amnesia has its own party vibe - something u don't find @ space enters only @ amnesia

space terrace is good for enter music only, I don't think that carola's sound fits there.

the sitting itself can be good for music such hot since 82, nina kraviz, but carola playing there I don't know its a little bit weird

Space Terrace used to be the best dancefloor on the Island . Everyone wanted to play the Terrace Even for free but since it doesn't open anymore in the morning and they put a roof on things has change. During that Time Amnesia was all about the mainroom , the Terrace was nothing except one party was filling the terrace La troya a gay party who was very famous back then. When cocoon launched there party early 2000's villalobos was playing for nobody just the main room was working well. Time has changed i agree now Amnesia Terrace is better than Space Terrace. The only good party that remind me the past is the closing when coxy played from 7 am till noon
 
I was in attendance on Tuesday and can safely confirm that Carola completly blew the roof off. Much more tech house set than usual, but regardless if was fantastic. It was a real shame it finished at 6am sharp.

On another note I have NEVER seen Space that busy. The main room was unbearable; fortunately the terraza had much more room and clearly better music.

On another note I have NEVER seen Space that busy. The main room was unbearable; fortunately the terraza had much more room and clearly better music.

Don't get why they have to close that early while Amnesia close sometimes at 9 or 10 am. Guessing because it's in pdb ! Would be awesome to have long set starting in the dark and finishing with sunlight.

Agree 100%... Carl Cox's set continued in the main room, but the terrace shut promptly at 6am. Disappointing as this is one of my favorite rooms in the whole of Ibiza. Especially as Carola looked as if he had plenty of ammunition left.
 
I ended up at music on sat morning for a bit (we arrived at 8am or so). you all know I'm not the biggest fan of carola these days; I loved him years ago when he played proper techno though. so believe it or not it was my first visit to music on all summer...and the last one too. the stuff he played simply bored me to tears. dull, dull, dull. each to his own though and I know I must be in minority seeing how popular his night is, but I just don't get it.
 
Back when he played @ meganite with Mauro picotto that's when carola was his best in Ibiza really enjoyed that party too for me he drags loops out too long and mixes in the same key for too long no big changes (playing it safe) imo
