Get Ableton live. Its EXCELLENT for making mixes and is also a proper piece of software for music production.

Ive juststarted with ableton live and have managed to warp my first couple of tracks! how do you then mix one track into another???

I havent got a mixer yet! when i press play i cant get the tune that is coming in to start at the first beat of the new set of 16.

They beat match ok and i can bring them in and out justnot start at the right point

To use Ableton to make DJ mixes, there are a few things you will need to get set up. There are 2 primary views in Abelton, the "Arrangement" view and the "session" view. You will want to be using the arrangement view. Under the tab "view" select arrangement. This will make the screen look more like your typical multi track production software, here is an image.

From this view, each of the "tracks" can have an MP3 dragged and dropped onto it. Once ableton decodes the MP3 it will appear in its wav form. You can then drag the waveform around to tell it where to start playing. Also on th left hand side of the screen there is a list of options to chose from that include song loops, and effects. From those effects, you can pick whichever you like, but at a bare minimum you will want to drag "EQ Three" onto each channel, it will allow you to control the EQ for each channel, so that you may cut the bass, boost the mids, etc.

With the arrangement view you will also be able to re-edit tracks, cut out parts you like, shorten them, legnthen them and generally smooth out your mixing, and hopefully you end up with something like this.

Some of the mixing is a bit abrupt but i wanted to squeeze in a bunch of tracks just to give you an idea.
