Is there a remix/bootleg of this knocking around? Sure I heard Hawtin and a few others play a tougher mix of it during last week, however I was quite battered so it could have just been the original.....

It is a great tune but I don't know of any remixes, can't find none either be good to hear some.
 
Its more than likely that whoever you heard has made a quick re-edit perhaps adding some harder kick or the like.. These sorts of things never see the light of day as far as joe bloggs is concerned.
