LOVEBOX WEEKENDER - 21ST & 22ND JULY
THE LOVEBOX SUMMER OF LOVE 2007

NEW ADDITIONS TO THE LINE-UP CONFIRM LOVEBOX AS LONDON'S MOST INNOVATIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL; Blondie, Hot Chip, Super Furry Animals, Patrick Wolf, The Presets, Junior Boys, Fellix Da Housecat, DJ Diplo, Good Shoes. . . with another very special surprise guest (or 2) to be announced!!!

Lovebox is pleased to welcome Blondie to its ever-growing bill. The punk pop icon who paved the way for the likes of Madonna and Lily Allen will wow the Lovebox crowd with a greatest hits set on Saturday. Few bands have had as many hit singles as Blondie so there will be plenty to choose from: 'Heart Of Glass', 'Call Me', 'Rapture' - the list goes on and on.

Super Furry Animals will open the festival on Saturday afternoon on the main stage whilst Groove Armada perform a 'Space Terrace'-style DJ set in the dance music arena Strange Love which has been uniquely designed around the set of Stanley Kubrick's famous film.

Our favourite electronic popsters Hot Chip have also joined the Sunday main stage bill alongside this year's most inventive breakthrough act Patrick Wolf who will perform alongside Australia's fast-rising stars The Presets and Canada's acclaimed synth-pop act Junior Boys on the saturday.

These new additions highlight Lovebox's dedication to eclectic and innovative music programming. They will be performing on the main stage in good company: Groove Armada - who close the festival with a new live show featuring highlights from their massive new album 'Sound Boy Rock'; the B-52's - who play their first live show in London for 14 years; New York's kings of punk-funk The Rapture; Malian rebel band Tinariwen; and the French act who pride themselves on cover versions of punk classics Nouvelle Vague.

"Tinariwen are happy to be in the box of love with the people of London. As the Touareg say the world is a big tent, with plenty of room for all" (Tinariwen)

Elsewhere other new artists include a festival exclusive for one of the world's best DJs Felix Da Housecat who headlines the Strange Love arena on Sunday night. Dance music fans will also be thrilled to see Tiga, Scratch Perverts, Digitalsim, Switch, Layo & Bushwacka, Mr C and Freeform Five amongst many more.

Respected filmmaker and punk/reggae music connoisseur Don Letts has also been asked to DJ in Rizla's Invisible Players tent alongside the electro pioneer Greg Wilson, Twisted Nerve's Andy Votel and the artist responsible for designing ground-breaking record sleeves for bands such as The Magic Numbers and Super Furries - Pete Fowler.

Superb music magazine Clash will also be hosting their own stage packed with cutting-edge bands in the Indiebox tent on Saturday. Likewise the UK's best-loved live music promoters Barfly will be programming a stage full of breakthrough indie talent on the Sunday headlined by the canny pop of Good Shoes.

A piece of sunny Brazil comes to the festival on Sunday as Lovebox throws its own Latin carnival starring authentic Brazilian musicians and dancers as well as stars of the baile funk scene such as Bonde Do Role and Buraka Som Sistema. The Brazilian 'daddy of all DJs' who started the whole scene - Diplo - plays a London exclusive festival set.

London's outrageously good gay and award winning party hosts Horse Meat Disco will be celebrating disco culture in a purpose built NYC 70's nightclub featuring their beloved resident DJs and special guests.

World music, folk, rock & roll and country fans will find much to get their ears into on a dedicated stage featuring the likes of Ojos Du Brujo; Toots & The Maytals; Tunng; Malcolm Middleton; Ska Cubano; Soothsayers and Dynamo's Rhythm Aces.

As we all know Lovebox is the festival that dares to be different and is about as far from corporate saturated events as it is possible to get. It is 'London's only music festival' lovingly put together by people who live and breathe the music and arts scene.

It's not just about the music though . . .

Over two days with numerous stages and tents in 20 acres of mature London parkland, the festival is a weekend of culturally unrestrained indulgence, mind-blowing music, spectacular entertainments, great food and frolics.

Lovebox continues to innovate with its high class production incorporating fine dining, circus, street theatre, comedy and an original steam fun fair alongside a dedicated children's area packed with events and shows for the little ones, whilst mum gets the chance to have a massage in the healing and eco-living zone.
