Looking to hire a car for the season... suggestions?

Am off out there in mid/late May and will be working up until around 20th September. I will need to hire a car for the whole season so would be interested to hear of any suggestions. I'm looking for a decent 5 door, anything along the lines of a VW Golf/Polo, Seat Leon/Ibiza, Ford Fiesta/Focus etc.

What sort of prices should I expect to pay per month roughly and is there anything else I may need to know about hiring a car for the season over there?

Am finding it hard it to get a quote online for more than 90 days rental.

Anyone got any ideas? I suppose I'll need to call a few places. If anyone knows any companies that would be great.
