long weekend in Ibiza - round 1

Thurs eve - arrive at what must be the smallest airport in the world - Coventry - literally a couple of tin sheds.......oh well it was very cheap.

02:00 Fri morning - arrive in Ibiza and head straight to Jet - pleasantly surprised with how nice Jet apartments actually are

- our room was above ground level and overlooking the beach.......nice. Pop out for a quick drink and then get to bed.

Fri - Breakfast at the lovely Passion opposite Space. Really nice breakfast and great SMOOTHIES!!! I'm liking this place a lot! then headed over to Bora Bora for the day for some sunlounging, cold beers and plenty of lovely house music perfect for beach listening. We left around 18:00 to go eat and get sorted for the evening ahead.

Fri evening - dinner in one of the many slightly tacky restaurants in Playa, showered, dressed etc then headed back down to Bora Bora for a couple of hours to find things in full swing with Defected in the house. A cracking atmosphere and great fun all round......oh yeah and it's FREE!!!

Fri night/Sat morning - head over to Pacha around 01:00 am for Pure Pacha with Tong and Steve Lawler. All a bit of a blur really but I recall things getting very messy from around 03:00am and the music was great all night - deep, Iberican and techy with some of the bigger tunes of the moment thrown in for good measure. the layout of Pacha is truly puzzling when you are in a bit of a pickle and i got lost several times when trying to navigate my way round the club! we stumbled out of Pacha around 06:45 and headed back to the apartment. we then decided to continue the party on the beach in front of our balcony until around mid morning.

Sat afternoon - after 4 hours of much needed sleep we staggered over to Bora Bora to crash on the sunbeds. It seems that the party had very much started already

Sat evening - headed over to Ibiza town for a look round and a few drinks. We met up with a couple of gay friends who were staying in the town. My girlfriend decided to get some work done on her existing tattoo in a fantastic tatto parlour: Tahiti Tattoo - i cannot recommend this place enough for anyone considering getting one done while on the Island.

that left myself, my straight mate and the two gay guys with a couple of hours to kill so they insisted on giving us a tour of the gay bars in Ibiza town. we had a right laugh and got to see some places we would otherwise never get the chance to.

finally got home rather drunk around 04:00 am!!! dammit was supposed to be getting an early night too!!!

Sunday - THE BIG ONE - Passion for breakfast and some hangover curing smoothies. Checked out and chucked our luggage into the lockup room in Jet. Then headed over to Space around 13:00.
How good it was to stroll onto the terrace again which was in full swing with beautiful people swaying to the funky tunes.
Mid to late afternoon flew by and before we knew it the place was rammed and GOING RIGHT OFF!!! no change there then.
Standout set of the day for me was Tiga who played some fantastic acid tinged house and electro. I must admit most of it is a bit of a blur however but it was all good. dunno who it was though but someone played a hip hop set sometime in the afternoon, this didn't quite seem to work IMO but at least it gave us some time to sit down! mad moment of the day was realising we were sat next to a table of people we knew from Bristol......small world innit.

We then had to leave at midnight and begin the journey home. this proved to be a lot harder than i thought it would be down to feeling absolutely battered, exhausted, insane etc etc. finally got home around 05:00 monday morning more shattered than i think i have ever felt.

ready to do it all again in September!!!!

Quality Crofty, nothing like an action-packed 4 days :D

I hope you looked after that head of yours as well  ;)

nice one mate
i know exactly what you mean when you have an "easy one", a "ngiht off" and then you are getting into bed at four or five in the morning and your thinking "hang on a minute"
i dont know how people go for longer than a week or so.... i really dont

Nice one!

Did you practice your spanish? ;)

i did.... a little.

i was truly amazed at how just by using a little Spanish, the locals really warm to you. A little Spanish really does go a long way, they think it's great that you are making an effort.

It's really inspired me to learn more. :D

One quick question, you mentioned Defected for free. Is this always the case, or did you score some free passes or guestlist?

yeah i was there that weekend.

i was in the block furthest from Bora Bora, next to Pago Pago - i recall in one of your posts you saying you were in the middle block????

also we were hardly ever in the apartment and when we were it was to sleep so we can't have been very noisy. ;)
