london/ january

my only question is: is there any reason for not going to London in january?:D
thanks

I'd say there's every reason to go to London in January cos it's my birthday

Seriously tho, if you want shopping then all the sales will be on so it's a good time to go, plus a lot of restaurants do really good deals at that time of year cos everyone is in hibernation/skint from Christmas.

However, bars and clubs are noticeably quieter - some clubs don't even open til mid-January cos everyone is in detox after the Christmas/New Year shenanigans.

When are you thinking of coming Mikkak??

It's not THAT cold in London  ;)

That's a very good time to come - my birthday

By middle of January people are starting to venture out again, it's only normally the first 2 wkends in the New Year which are noticeably quieter but then everyone emerges from their caves

now I am trying to convince my sister, I have allready ofered to pay fligths!!!
the thing is that in spring we are probably going back with some other friends, so that would be 2 Londons, wich I do not mind because I love it, plus that from Mallorca and my tabletime is cheaper to go to London than to any big city of Spain ( except for Barcelona and Madrid)8O

I'd make the most of the cheap flights - and London in January will be different to London in spring and also there's so much to do in London you could visit 5824723 times and still have things left to do ;)

I was in london on 1st january 2000 and it was death 8O

We arrived on NYD afternoon with no sleep and Leicester square was empty at 7 o'clock, it was a desert 8O  It was quite scary in our state

Mikkak, winter in London is great, you can wear proper winter clothes like hats, scarfs, gloves and thick winter coats

I must say your birthday is probably the worse date in the world

If it was a few days before it could be big birthday/New Year Eve combined but what kind of day is 5th January to have your birthday on   ;)

beck, when is your birthday?

Towards the end of January would be 8)

I find that the first week in January, after New Year, London is pretty quiet and there's not much people about - even the bars are quiet. Also if you choose to come at the end of January you will find that good hotels will have deals where you will get 3 nights for the price of 2 and 3 for the price of 4 ;)

5th Jan  I can't go out the weekend before because that's New Years Eve, then no one wants to go out the weekend after because it's so soon after Xmas/NYE
Oh, and it always used to be the day that EVERYONE was back at school, so everyone was in a bad mood :(

I might change it to 5th June or something, half a year later :p

Move to Spain, the 6th january is bank holiday

But we always drag our sorry carcasses out for you  ;)

You do, I'm very grateful  I normally only have drinks though because I know clubbing would finish us all off 8O

Next year's will be cool though, I'll be on a beach in Thailand 8)

I would love so so much to go, fligths are the same price if we go 18-21 or 25-28. What are the best dates?
Look the apartment we find, if we are 4 person id work out cheap!!! its amazing

Sales will have generally finished by the end of the month but if you want busy bars/clubs then I'd for the last weekend cos everyone has been paid then so it's always busy with everyone coming to life after Christmas/New Year ;)
