Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant in the Liverpool Street area? the hotel were staying in actually has 4 restaurants inside but they are a bit too la de dar :lol:

Restaurants round Liv St, are 1 of 3 types:

City eateries for poshish nosh;

Trendy do's up by Shoreditch (though a littl ebit of a walk, and have to mix with the skinny jeaned mases!

or Ruby's in Brick Lane ;).

Most standard chains are also represented, Slug & Lettuce etc, though if you're in town, I wouldn't go there.

What are you looking for?

Oh, and from the offset, Cru comes vvv highly recomended.

What are you doing in Liverpool St if you don't mind me asking? I work a few yards form there.

Thanks for the recommendations Sarah, brilliant websites, so far i like the look of the Hoxton Apprentice, its not too fussy and it has lamb :)

Dan - Thank you too, i have been told that their are a few indian restaurants around there which might also fit the bill, it depends on what everyone else fancies i suppose.

Were staying at Great Eastern Hotel and going to The Cross so that's our reason, do you work in the financial district then?, or is that a different area of London? :? :)

We went to Joe Allens before going to The Cross. It is a cosy little restuarant, mainly for theatre types but the food is excellent.

I'm with you grego... I never eat before going out. I'll have a big breakfast on clubbing days and that'll be it until after the event.

Hasten to add that i dont infact go mad anymore when i go out, few drinks then water and thats it. Also wont be there for very long, 4 hours probably tops.

If i was going to get mashed then i wouldnt have a big meal before hand either, maybe a bit of pasta earlier on in the evening to give me energy for a shape-a-thon.

sorry mambs, my comment was to sirens not you. :oops: :? :lol: i wasn't telling you to not eat or anything!!;) :lol:

btw - i'm soooo over owls now. still a bit 8O 8O :x :( with bats!:lol:
