I'd say that's a very comprehensive list indeed :D

Have you been to London before?? If not, the tourist buses are a good way to see the city.

I would add to the list to go to a market - Portobello on Saturdays, Spitalfields on Sunday or Camden at a wkend.

Also you must have fish and chips (Rock and Sole Plaice in Covent Garden is good)and have a Sunday roast somewhere (Lock Ravern in Camden does a fab roast).

Thanks a lot Babs !
Your tips are so useful

Just one more answer.

Others decent but not pricey restaurants?

Thanks again.

yeah i'd add covent garden to you trip.

also, maybe compromise on a museum for an art gallery, as london has many excellent art galleries and there may be a special exhibition on at the time you're visiting.

According to you, which one would I compromise?

And which art gallery? For example, I love Escher...

Sorrry...too many questions....

Thank mate

As a tourist who have been several times in London, and seeing you are staying just for 4 days, I would focus just in one museum, personally I would say National Gallery or the Tate (the Modern or the old one), but that's my personal choice. London museums are huge and so complet that they deserve a deep exploration and you could spent a whole day in any of them.

I agree with Barbie that the touristic bus is great specially if it's your first time in town.

I am not very impressed with St Paul, considering you are italian and that you have some of the most stunning churches in the world in your country, I'm not sure if it's worht.

I think you should wander around the central-touristic zone: you are not a tourist if you don't walk around Picadilly, Trafalgar, Covent Garden and Soho

Try and get to Portobello market on the Sat.
It's such a great atmosphere.
I recommend S&M (sausage and mash) cafe for lunch. yum.

Oh and try and go on a boat along the themes, best way to see London IMO (esp at night when a lit up and pretty)

 I do love their veggie sausages mmmm mmmmm mmmmmm :D

The place is a mecca for stodge lovers.
Might have to pop off there at the weekend.

PS - Sorry I've not replyed re your birthday yet, we may/may not go away for a few days. I'll let you know ASAP.

If we can't make it though we'll do something another day.

I wouldn't bother with Madam Tousauds, horrendous queues and it's not that great. If it were a toss up between that and, say, Spitalfields on Sunday then I would go for Spitalfields (or any other place on your list really) 8)
