Location Advice Please!

Hi everyone, I wondered if I could ask for some advice - my wife and I are thinking about heading back to Ibiza for the 4th time this summer, but this time we'll have a little girl about to celebrate her first birthday, so things are going to be a bit different to last time :) Previously we've stayed in Ibiza Town, Figueretas and PdB, but we're thinking that they might be a bit too busy for this particular trip. We've looked at Santa Eulalia, Es Cana and Cala Llonga, but we're finding it hard to make a decision. We've really enjoyed the multi-national/cosmopolitan feel on Ibiza Town when we've stayed there in the past, so I was wondering where people would recommend we looked at this year.

This is one of those 'it all depends' questions.
When are you going, what sort of hotel/apartment,will you be hiring a car?

Of the places mentioned Santa Eulalia would be the most cosmopolitan, Es Cana the cheapest,
and not as completely brit as you might think, Cala Llonga is the smallest with a more limited bus service, perfect if all you want is to lay around in the sun and not go anywhere else.

Any of the above will be able to cope with the demands of a one year old.

Cala Llonga would be best in my mind.small compacted.but nice.only one way in and out of resort.like said just depends wether you want to go s/c or hotel.el pina atps are nice.resort is a little hilly in parts but not to bad.two buses run from resort one to ibiza town the other to next resort well working town?.Santa Eulalia. Santa Eulaliatakes 10 mins if that.ibiza town takes 20 mins.depends on traffic.

Thanks for the help, we're looking at hotels with a kitchenette at the moment, cooking the whole time that we're on holiday isn't much of a holiday, but I do want to have the option should it come down to it. We're usually quite adventurous with food, so would rather be somewhere where there's more than just "brit friendly" food. We weren't planning on hiring a car, but we would like to be able to get about a bit, since if we were just going to sit in a resort by a pool there's probably cheaper islands we could visit ;) I guess reading that back, along with what you both posted, Santa Eulalia might be the best bet?

A kitchenette is very handy (for the fridge,if nothing else) Santa Eulalia is good for restaurants and
is a hub for the buses on that side of the island. Good for boat trips too.

How is es cana cheaper? Do you know what beer prices are like? I have been looking at bringing the kids with me and the advice looks good. I thought of st eulalia but wasnt sure on prices of meals and beer. san an is very hit and miss with prices some bars being 3-4e and some being 6-8 for a pint with your dinner.
Also is there any pubs with entertainment for kids at night in any of these quiter locations? I know san an bay does but with so many clubbers staying there the mrs wants to go somewhere a bit less full of pill heads :D

About Es Cana: saying "it's the cheapest" was a bit of a generalisation,a hotel room or a newspaper will cost the same as anywhere else.....however it does have a good selection of cheap cafes and bars.
Lots of bogof happy hours, or permanent deals like a pint of Estrella + tapa €2 or pint + Hierbas €3.50.
Entertainment is mostly hotel based and quite kid friendly, there are a couple of places that have tribute acts etc, then carry on with music till about 3am. Also, there is a small funfair.

Santa Eulalia has some reasonable prices as well,if you have a good look around....
Kalissel on the seafront seems to have a constant happy hour,an example pint Mahou €1.90,Mojito €2.90.

Thanks, they all sound good then will probably have to find the cheapest possible booking within a decent ish hotel then kids just want a pool and the beach but they like going out at night to. Not easy when booking for 5 of us!
