Locals who live near Sant Jordi..

Do you know if there's a way to cross the main motorway that goes to the airport by foot, if you want to get to Platja Den Bossa?

We are staying in a villa just north of Sant Jordi, its about 3km from the beach in a straight line, which is walkable, but with that massive motorway we might be forced to deviate by quite a distance..

Are there any foot bridges near by?

Many thanks

hi mate,

i was actually thinking about this very thing today.

we used to live in the centre of the village. a footbridge would have saved 10 mins on the walk, because the only options are to walk down the road (from salinas roundabout) or down the road that leads to centre of the resort, by jet car park/coco's, start of jet, etc.

where abouts is it exactly?

from the village centre, you're looking at 20-25.

I did think I remembered you telling me you lived there.

Not actually sure what the town is called where we're staying.. if you look on google maps its in Coves Des Formenter.. is that an actual town?

Anyway, our villa is on the street called "Calle B"

if you use the google Maps directions it does suggest we walk to the roundabout that heads to Coco's etc.. and it says its 40 mins walk, which i think we can make 30-35.

Shame there's no foot bridge.. You'd think the people from Sant Jordi weren't too happy with that

It's nothing special. There's a few shops (supermarkets etc) there on the San José-Ibiza town road.

it's nothing special isn't probably the description he was looking for!! perhaps a bit less subtle like "you will love it as it has great transport links and good shops"

I checked out of curiosity

I always thought that was part of Sant Jordi, not a separate village :? Drive through it all the time on the way to San Jose and the beaches out that way.

Probably best to walk to the roundabout at the east end of the village, then head south on the road that goes straight to the roundabout at the top end of PdB. Then you're right on the road that ends at Jet & Pago Pago...

(or walk south into San Jordi, turn left and out to that same 2nd roundabout)

i see it. why didn't you ask me? you're really close to the club de campo for tennis and footy, eroski for empty supermarket shelves, and can bellotera for bars, gourmet cake shops, cheap rezzies and pottery stalls. now you know why i never venture anywhere near pdb.

Thanks everyone.

I knew what was round the villa, we didn't really care about that much as we'll be doing the food shopping by car from the bigger stores outside Ibiza town, and the rest will be either spent going out or recovering at the villa.

My main concern was if someone wanted to walk to the beach so he didnt have to rely on a car.. it looks like he'll be able to do it, even if it's 35 mins away.

I agree Morbyd, that seems like the best option to go towards the east.

Just saw its also walkable distance from DC-10..

The club de campo place will be handy, we'll taking some tennis rackets as the courts are only 6 Euros per person, bargain compared to London prices, plus ive never played on clay

It's too far to walk unless you are used to walking about in 30C (todays temperature). Just drive and save yourself the agony.

After spending most of July and August in this city with 35-40 C weather, I'd fancy such a walk

Might be too warm for the Brits though

the eroski of which i speak IS one of the 'bigger' stores outside ibiza town

oh, excellent.. didnt know that. Cheers.

we definitely won't be driving to DC-10, probably a taxi. Wow, i'll be very happy if it's 30 degrees in October. We have walked to DC-10 from PdB before, so its not a problem for us walking a while to a club, but I guess its more dangerous than anything else, specially walking back when its dark.

I am looking at a villa in a similar area and am wondering whether its possible to walk to pdb. The 30mins is ok its just looking closely I cant tell wether its possible to cross that roundabout on foot that goes over the motorway?? We wil have a car but if there is 8 of us at some point someone will clearly need to walk
