...if you've got a pocket full of copper change (UK only), spend your pennies first as 2 pennies weigh a fraction more than a two-penny piece. ;)

my copper jar is filling up nicely - time for a visit to asda to use their money changing machine - I love them - its like free money cos you never use your change, at least we dont in our house, it just gets chucked on the mantlepiece......

ours gets chucked in the fruit bowl :? i love them machines too, its like winning the jackpot at vegas :D not that I know what thats like

Yes they do, get them changed at barclays (if you have an account there)
My fella and I rounded up all our saved change from our houses and the car as we never spend 2s,1s,5s and and changed up to £60!!! Was like christmas! and the car probably runs a lot better now without the excess change!!!

After a night on the tiles, my cousin decided that his beer shrapnel jar bottle had become too full, and we're talking one of the large pub-sized spirit bottles!! So we both proceeded to count out the change and lo and behold it came to the grand total of £420 8O  Off to the bank we trotted and then with his "winnings" he immediately got cracking on generating the next lot down at the local

Mr Scoobie's bank told him they won't accept more than £5 in change. Miserable buggers

its illegal
ACTUALLY illegal for them to do that
under some old law a bank in the united kingdon has to accept all currency
its kinda a terms of their liscence if you like
was perobably some lazy idjut at the till

Yes, if you have an account a bank must accept all change. They can insist it is bagged up correctly though.

I've got shoeboxes and tins full of bagged up 1ps and 2ps, i've litterally got thousands and thousands of the little things. I'm gonna keep collecting them until i retire or they get withdrawn. I want to own every 1p and 2p in the UK

I've now got a big beer bottle half full of 5ps and 20ps too.....
