Life and Lines of Brandon Block

I thought I'd repost this one - read it over Christmas.

Highly recommended and wildly entertaining stuff.

I never liked him as a DJ because I always equated him with the naff side of 90s Ibiza.

...didn't know he had so much musical credibility before selling out to big room stardom.

Respect to the man - he's been on a heck of a journey there.

Nice one Robder - should be flying back to the UK in a few weeks so you've reminded me to get a copy.

On the last chapter just now, brilliant book and very interesting story of his life. Some cracking antics in Ibiza as well, thought I had experienced a few messy ones but nothing compared to Brandon!

Got the Sasha book to read next!

Is there one?

On Brandon - quite trippy reading the end bit when he talks about a Thailand jaunt at Gecko with Jo Mills, Charlie Chester, Lisa Loud and Lisa Horan.

I was sat on the beach nattering to them at the time.

God is a DJ, but he only warms up for Sasha. Written by his mate I believe.

This book is my portrayal of the DJing career of Alexander Coe, more commonly known as Sasha. It charts his rise from an anonymous regular at the infamous Hacienda nightclub in Manchester to becoming the renowned and established figurehead for dance music throughout the world over the last 20 years. During his meteoric rise to fame and fortune, I have established a long-standing friendship with him that has enabled me to recount in detail his career highs and seldom lows. It also records the impact that dance music, in particular Sasha's own innovative style, had on the UK's clubland, from it's humble underground beginnings in the very early nineties to today's pop chart notoriety. For those too young to have been present at the beginning, it is a sample of what they've missed so far and for those lucky enough to have been there at the time then it will prove to be a very positive reflection of what is now etched in dance music history. I first came across Bren in about 1989 in a club called ‘Legends' which was underneath Warrington rugby league ground. It was a tiny sweatbox of club with a low ceiling, smoke machine and 80's glitz décor. It was one of mine and many others first hunting ground for dance music clubs however we all knew Brendan was a veteran of the warehouse raves in Blackburn and most other Northern clubs now playing our favoured big piano anthems to which we could blow our whistles to!

any other similar books to this people could recommend? ibiza/music/drugs etc

I'm not recommending it but, Spanish Highs {sex,drugs & excess in Ibiza}
by Wayne Anthony is probably the sort of thing you are looking for.

Read this a couple of times, good fun short stories but dont expect a literary masterpiece.

I read it , was quite a good read but then again i havn't read a book for quite a while. Is a little bit name droppy but i guess that sells. The sheer amounts he is talking about quickly become quite depressing , how he's alive is abit of a mystery

"Clubland Confidential" is also worth a read. Another New York / Michael Alig based book.

Found it this morning in a cupboard whilst looking for something.
