Ostgut Ton and Corsica Studios present UNTERTON
On Friday November 25th we are extremely proud to present the second edition of UNTERTON, Ostgut Ton's label showcase night at Corsica Studios. After the resounding success of the FUNF birthday celebrations last November and the overwhelming response to the first edition of UNTERTON back in June it was clear that the Ostgut Ton artists and ethos were perfectly suited to Corsica's raw and stripped down surroundings and its impeccable sound systems and it was only a matter of time before another visit was in order.
As with previous events we've been working closely with Ostgut Ton to bring over a carefully picked selection of the artists who have contributed to their reputation as one of the leading labels in modern electronic music and for the second party we have assembled another amazing line up which goes some way to representing the breadth of their roster. For the second Unterton event we are genuinely thrilled to welcome back two of Ostgut's best known artists – Ben Klock and Prosumer – along with sterling support from label mates Fiedel, Nick Höppner and the debut UK live set from Barker and Baumecker.
After his last glorious outing here in June we cannot wait to welcome back Ben Klock for another expertly delivered techno masterclass. Ben is probably Ostgut Ton's most praised DJ and producer and is as renowned for his lengthy, extended sets as he is for helping define the sound of Berghain. We are delighted to be able to offer Ben free reign once more and he'll be playing the closing set in the main room. Anyone who attended the previous UNTERTON party will clearly remember the joyous conclusion to the evening and we look forward to similar scenes this time around! Commencing proceedings will be Fiedel who'll be making his Corsica debut and will be setting the tone for the night with a diverse selection ranging from electro and early Hip-Hop through to some of the most considered classic techno. The pairing of Andreas Baumecker (nd_baumecker) and Sam Barker (Voltek) seemed almost destined to result in some outstanding music and we are privileged to be able to offer Barker and Baumecker an opportunity to play a live analogue and digitalhardware set where they'll be airing some tracks from their recent releases. Expect a boundary blurring set of broken beat electronics, classic techno and futuristic machine funk.
In the confines of room 2 we welcome back one of Panorama Bar's best loved residents, Achim Brandenburg aka Prosumer. Achim's love for early Detroit techno and classic Chicago House is well known and the joy and soul that he brings to his sets make them an absolute pleasure to behold. When such a great selector is having this much fun behind the decks it is impossible not to be moved and we have 4 hours of sublime deep house and techno to look forward to from him. Playing alongside Prosumer is Nick Höppner, Ostgut Ton's label manager and another key component of the Berlin scene. Nick's musical breadth, knowledge and heritage is unrivalled and his involvement in the inception and development of the Ostgut label has been massively important. It is no overstatement to say that Nick has been one of the most influential people in the development of the Berghain sound and we can expect a rich and eclectic adventure through modern electronic music from him tonight.
