my memory isnt the best, but the tips i have for you is as follows;

were in tallin in 2003 (or was it 02 hehe) for the sun dance music festival (http://www.sundancemusicfestival.com) wich was a lot of fun. cheap as hell (the entrance fee was €3 a day!) and always great lineups. if you dont have the luck of being there during the festival i recommend club privé wich is a cool club with a great sound system and good line ups. besides that, check out the outside terace bar located up the hill of the old town right next to club privé. at least during sdmf there were djs playing there all day. and the drinks and food is extremely cheap everywhere. the town pärnu by the coast should be good aswell, with nice beaches and some clubs as what i have heard.

pm me and i will try to hook you up with a friend who plays in tallin once in a while to get in touch with promoters.

Riga rocks. One of the best 4-day weekends I've had. I was there in November 2002, so some things might have changed, but here goes:

Definitely try to stay in the old city. It's beautiful and there's some good restaurants and stuff around. Everything is within walking distance. I saw all of the main sites in a couple of afternoons (I usually got a late start :) )

I stayed in the Forum hotel. Comfy, central, inexpensive, clean and, most impresively, 24 hour... uh. adult television station ;)

Nautilus was the It club of the moment when I was there. One decent DJ named Godzilla played there. 2 rooms (one house, the other r&b/hip-hop). The women were gorgeous. It's on the edge of the old city.

Roxy is more of a tourist club. It's got 4 rooms with pop, house, Russian music, and alt-rock, if I remember correctly. Lots of chill-out areas. The main room gets packed, hot, and sweaty with wild partying young folk. It's in the center of the old city.

Across the street from the Forum hotel is an inconspicuious bar (name escapes me) which, when I tried to go in on a Friday night, asked for a cover charge. Why?, I asked. Turns out there's an underground club downstairs. Good atmosphere with some pumping house & trance that night. Met some really nice people.

M36 (aka Metro?) was another club I visited. I went on a Monday night and turns out it was closed but had a private party. I saw people waiting there from the other underground club and they took me in! Party was cool - decent live percussionist accompanying the music.

That's my Riga overview.

tallinn is really nice! the medieval old town is beautiful, the ladies are gorgeous and wear killer heel day and night, the food is delicious and it's all dirt cheap.

i've only been going out there some years ago, some clubs back then were hollywood, vibe, spirit, decoltée, terrarium, privé and moskva. here's a link to a local clubbing site, good luck with the estonian language

they're both top blokes but i've been away from there so long i haven't met them in ages... say greetings when you see them!

oh yes, met parham this saturday, but havent met jake for a few months now since he has moved out of town. however, i will greet them from you (petraxx is your name?) online.

parham now lives in barcelona btw, but is in stockholm quite often, arrangin clubs, doing gigs, getting drunk etc.

Vilnius is kind of sleepy but nice. There was a great restaurant/open air club on the edge of town with a small river running by it that I quite enjoyed.

Don't remember the names of the clubs we went to downtown though  There's one good one in the middle of the old town across the street from the Town Hall-type building. If you stay in the old town and walk around, you'll find it.

I think I might have actually been there. My weekend in Vilnius is a bit hazy but the photos look familiar. Decent place but the music was average.

Hi Mark,

I was in Vilnius the following weekend after my (I think you were there too!) trip to Ibiza this year for the openings.

Truth be told mate, I was on a stag do (beers n strippers style :? ) and I can't say I thought much of the place. I certainly couldnt find any clubs of note, although I can't be said I was looking too hard, I did stumble across a few places, but they were standard rnb fodder, with not a lot of "good house" action (although having just been spoilt coming back from Ibiza, I could have missed something half decent).

Great place to get smashed on thick lager, and theres a few strip clubs for the tourists, but there's very little else there.

Though I could (and hope) be very much mistaken. It was all a bit 8O

Oh, and everything (drinks, clubs etc) is cheap as chips out there

It is a pretty small town, but we managed to find 3 house clubs while we were there so there's definitely more to do than just the strip clubs.

Thanks Dan & John - we'll be in Vilnius midweek so will be quite happy for something quite chilled.. leaving in an hour to catch my plane woohoo :D
