Whats the latest you can hold out on booking a last minute deal to ibiza? Me and a mate planning on going the 9thseptember for a week in PDB, Currently coming to around £300-£350, When will the flights come down in price? is it usually 2 or 3 weeks before?

Hi the prices change all the time, we,re flying from Leeds with Ryan air, and one day the price was £60 cheaper than the day before, we bought the tickets that day, and the price had gone up the next day,
so if youve got the money available, look on the sites everyday, as the prices seem to go up and down all the time, we bought our tickets a few weeks ago,

just checked the prices now,and it would of cost us nearly £100 more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with heather on this as the flight prices go up and down like a yoyo!

Last year I managed to get my flights on Thomson for £75 return from Gatwick, the day after booking they were £1308O

This year I just got them by when I could and managed to come out reasonably ok at £99 return.

Don't see how that's possible if you use sky scanner and just do a month search which brings up the cheapest flights anyway...

booked 4 flights last night for the closing parties ( 2 flights there and 2 back ) for £105.....

:D

If I understand right then do they log your ip address so they will up the price a bit each time? So looking at same hol from two computers would come up different price?

No that theory would only drive away customers so its an urban legend.

ok a tour op guy i know who works for one of the big groups told me years ago, they monitor all traffic on there pcs.who is looking at what etc.so they can change the price at any time they wish,

I tried booking my trip back to Ibiza in September via the DIY method by searching for cheap return flights ofwhich the cheapest were with Vueling in the 170-200 euros range along with stop over upto 14hrs just to add insult.

Then i found a Online Holiday Company who do special hotel/flight deal's for DIY travellers like myself and was surprised on finding that the same Airline Compagnie Vueling were only charging for Direct flights just 120 euros return when booking the hotel with the online Holiday Compagnie. Hence needless to say despite it being around 2am i booked but it made myself wonder why is there such a big price difference for using the same airline charging upto 80 euros more including a long stopover at either Barcelona or Madrid airports?

It does seem that us the paying Client if we don't search around for the deals are getting ripped off but by who?

Cheers

The higher cost of indirect flights is partly down to airport taxes etc which are levied on each sector flown and often make up a large % of the total cost. You see this especially at the start of the season where about 5% of the cost is airfare and the rest taxes, fuel surcharges and booking fees. Cut down the number of flights, cut down the taxes and surcharges. Then travel on a day that's not very busy to get the best deal on the variable element (the fare).

Even a "free" frequent flyer ticket attracts charges of about £60 return in government airport taxes and fuel surcharges which you have to pay !

thats why gatwick is cheap to fly from.you should see how much east mids charges in taxes.highest in the uk.and yet its always busy.
