Large development?

When I was over last month, I noticed a large development with huge grounds that was being built just outside San Rafael.

I wasn't sure if it was a development for villas or owned by one person but it had stables out the front.

Anyone know what it is?

it's a horse breeding establishment which can actually be seen from outer space and it has been there for several years. you are correct in your assumption that it is owned by one person though. the works at the moment are to rebuild the walls and gates which were demolished to make way for the much needed motorway and tunnel.

Cheers Stephen. Never noticed it before but not surprised it can be seen from space - it's huge!

At 250 miles (400 KM) high, the altitude of the International Space Station, one can no longer see the outline of neither highways nor anything the size of airports. However, cities are still visible.

If the observer is on the surface of the moon at a rough distance of 237,000 miles, then not a single man-made object can be seen with or without a set of binoculars. Apollo 12 astronaut Alan Bean said, “The only thing you can see from the moon is a beautiful sphere, mostly white (clouds), some blue (ocean), patches of yellow (deserts), and every once in a while some green vegetation. No man-made object is visible on this scale. In fact, when first leaving earth's orbit and only a few thousand miles away, no man-made object is visible at that point either."

this sort of stuff cracks me up! everyone in Ibiza and especially those from Ibiza build illegally, then they get a license if they can, afterwards. I don't think the Ibi's understand the law any more than us outsiders do. That rancher/accountant probably thought his gaff was perfectly legal until now.

Mind you, he has other thing's to think about.

Fraud
A businessman advised the agency which deals with fiscal fraud that his financial advisor was not dealing with his business matters correctly. He was identified in court as JMMA who could have defrauded thousands of euros; he is accused of criminal fraud, embezzlement, retaining monies owed to the Inland Revenue, and money laundering. Police officers searched three properties, two in Ibiza Town (his office and his residence) and one in the Los Olivos Stables, of which the man is the proprietor. The officers impounded a vast quantity of paperwork and several computers.
The judge granted bail, but with charges against him, and ordered that the valuables impounded the previous day be kept by the court in case he is found guilty of the charges. It is thought that the value of the jewellery, paintings and cash was worth in the region of 800,000€. The judge also advised the accused that he is not allowed to leave Ibiza. After the case was made public last week, several other businessmen came forward and admitted that they too were not happy with the way their finances had been dealt with, and it is thought that the final figure for the fraud could be as high as five million euros.
This is not the first time that JMMA has been the subject of an investigation, as in 1997 a German client claimed that he had abused his confidence and had acted fraudulently against his estate, but the accused protested that he was only trying to besmirch his name.
It later transpired that part of his property at the stables is not legal, as he received planning permission in 2000 to construct buildings which were in keeping with the running of his business, but in fact now comprises of a five bedroom mansion, a library and a trophy room, which are not exactly required to muck out horses.
