Over the past few years I've noticed a lack of atmosphere in certain club nights...
Firstly, it seems this year that the best parties are those with the least British... (sorry..
) Gladiatori / Made in Italy @ Amnesia had a brilliant atmosphere.. Italians really know how to go for it..
Space and DC10... have always been more International but on the nights / days where there was minimal British crowds, they seemed to be the best..
All of the English people we saw / spoke to / Overheard (and bearing in mind we stayed in PDB, so not too many!) All seemed to be either Bigging themselves up.. talking about how many drugs they'd taken and how hardcore they were.. Giving other Brits (false) info on DJ's, Club nights, Drugs.. but sounding like they'd been living there all thier lives.. They all just seem so "know-it-all".. Some guy in Gladiatori even had the cheek to tell me that all those voices singing the Seven Nation Army tune were the "British lads"... Sorry but there wasnt that many Brits in there.. and its only the Italians that do that in PDB (Bora esp)..
No other year have i felt so embaressed to be a Brit.. I even had to pretend that i wasnt English to certain British plonkers...!
Anyway back to topic...
Pacha... once my fave club... very disappointed.. No atmosphere.. (and i know that sometimes you have to make your own...) Too busy, too hot, everyone was tetchy and the Deej kept knocking the TT.... And for such an expensive club?? Im giving it a wide berth for a while... Im sticking to Space for Sundays / LaTroya and DC10 for CircoLoco BoraBora.. and any Italian / Spanish nights...
