A few questions about Kumharas

Has anyone been to Kumharas this summer? Whats it like? Where abouts is it exactly, is it near San Anotonio? If so, walking distance?

Been watching a few you tubes, and its really made me want to check it out this year - especially this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDjalDbPiYI

How does it compare to other sunset bars, like cafe del mar for example? Does it get mega busy

Kumharas in MUCH better than Cafe del Mar etc. in my opinion. Very chilled vibe, hippy mini-market and can be reached by walking round the bay or by water taxi (I believe).

Saw Jose Padilla there last week, briiliant. A similar atmosphere to how Cafe Del Mar used to be.

Cafe del mar has lost it completely and it is such a shame. No DJ and only a cd playing, all very sad.

... Kumharas ... want to check it out this year ...

... already surrounded by silly amount of new construction ...
so hurry up because it probably won´t last forever at this location :x

Kimajy took me here as part of his kidnap and must say I was impresses. Very chilled, nice vibe, just a shame that so much work is going on around it as I can imagine it used to be quite idyllic

So is it walking distance from say, the bus station? Or is it a taxi ride from there?

Really looking forward to going there, and seeing a big name like Padilla would be awesome!

If you are near the bus station just hop on a bus,one of the Port des Torrent ones will do, 2 or 6.
Kumharas is situated at c.Lugo, just off the main bay road which is called c des Calo.Ask the driver.

ps. Look out for big cow on the corner.
pps. Or check a map!

Prefer Kumharas to any of the sunset bars on the strip. The vibe is good and the music is good. Often live acts on too. Managed to see Paco Fernandez when I was there last season. Only ate there once but that was many years ago but I recall the food was nice.

As its located at the far end of the bay I usually catch a cab round which will set you back around 7€ from the centre of San An.

Once you pass Bucanneros with the big sign on your left, it's a few streets further along - there's a Tabac sign on the RHS which signals the road to turn down - Kumharas is right at the end :)

Or get kidnapped.

Went there to eat and food was fantastic. So we decided to celebrate midsummer ("Juhannus" in Finland) there and spent whole evening at Kumharas. Again food was excellent. Highly recommended!
