MAY 1st sees the glitzy re-opening party for the new, improved KASBAH (next door to Kanya). And it should be a doozy too, since JUDGE JULES and GILES SAWNEY recently bought the highly popular café-bar-restaurant, whose terrace is a favourite daytime meeting point for club industry types. A complete overhaul and redevelopment is in full swing, with extra comfortable chairs being added to the benches and chunky tables on the terrace. A totally new and expanded kitchen has been installed to cope with an ever-increasing volume of customers, with the same chef preparing old favourites, plus fresh innovations for a new breakfast and lunchtime menu (topless eggs Benedict for me then mate). Open even earlier, with later closing, the whole idea is to create a cleaner, fresher look, without compromising the original Kasbah vibe, quality, and reliability, improving upon what’s there. If it ain’t broke!
JULES & GILES have ALSO bought the adjacent (and rarely used) Kasbah lounge bar, complete with its large beachfront Terrace. They’ve renamed it ARENA (Spanish for sand), and will offer cocktails at sunset to varied and relaxing sounds, plus a similar sociable vibe to Kasbah, with comfortable furnishings and a redesigned large interior (for after midnight sounds). Again, opening Saturday May 1st, with free champers!
