I am looking to book a weekend in Brighton and the Hilton Metropole says that they allow dogs - have either of you taken your dogs to a hotel with you?? Is this good or bad idea??

I always wanted to but Paddy wasn't very sociable when it came to other four legged friends and I didn't trust him not to bump into another dog and be incredibly naughty :spank: Crystal on the other hand is a proper madam who behaves perfectly all the time. I've taken them camping with me before and they loved every minute of it. They both adored the seaside too.

I think its a lovely idea 8)

I'd have no worries about taking Danny, I just have visions of Lottie causing mayhem in the hotel 8O

Just keep her on her long lead just incase she decides to wreck the room and you can grab her quickly
That'll be really nice for them, I can just imagine them running about on the beach, they'd love it :D

Oh God yes!!!!

What a nightmare it was too!!

We booked this gorgeous little hotel in the Lakes years back for our first wedding anniversay and took the pooches with us.

Went to the vets and got some sedatives for the dogs as they are terrible when left alone in a strange place (yeah yeah I know totally HMD   ) Anyway, vet said one tablet for Harley, half a tablet for Benson (cos he only has half a tummy) Got to the hotel, owner comes out to meet us and Harley cant walk and just falls out the car - she's like me at 6.00am on a Sunday morning   she's so sedated, so we have to pretend that she's very very old (she's 6 at this point), Benson is still bouncing round like a loon so we have to tell the owner that Benson is the son of Harley    )

That night we get the dogs settled in our room, come downstairs to a wonderful dinner, I am starting to get a bit worried about the dogs (dont know why but call it motherly instinct) Got upstairs and Harley is off her head, she's crawled into the bathroom and is lying in the shower tray panting and her eyes are rolling around her head and she's left a trail of wee wee across the bedroom floor - she has no control over herself, so we ended up spending our anniversay evening, staying up with the dog, trying to work through her mad trip..

Never again!!! or at least not with sedated dogs..... :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank:

(on coming back home I actually checked the tablets in case Phil had given her one of our "tablets" instead of one of her vet tablets... eeeek!!!)

.... actually got worse, it was the 1998, World Cup so we drove back to catch the England vs Holland match - got home to find we had been burgled..... AND the little sh*ts stole my special tin...... Bad weekend all round really:spank:

.... still, you have to laugh.....

Money? Check
Electrical goods? Check
Illicit substances? Sweet!

Yeah and imagine trying to tell the police what was nicked when they came round to ours and imagine the scene:-
  • dog off its head
  • me incensed with anger and all over the shop from lack of sleep
  • Phil on the ceiling because we had no TV to watch the bloody match on!!!
    Never forget our 1st Wedding Anniversary
