We've had the best holiday ever.

Dunno what i was worried about.
Went to Cala Conte beach, which must be the best beach on the island.

Thanks to everyone for their help to my questions in this forum.

any newbies wanna ask me anything whilst it's fresh in my mind message me.

Can't wait for our next trip! :D:D:D

So....did you go by bus or boat to Cala Conta/Platjes de ses Comptes/Cala Conte ;)

We went by bus, but we did get a free speed boat trip from port des torrent to San thnks to Jeff at the Seahorse scuba diving centre. (ver recomended by my hubby for scuba diving lessons) :D

the boat trips looked lovely but it was the price that put us off but maybe next time.

We did however hire a pedelo on cala conte beach but it was so windy that we could have easily ended up in San An!! LOL and it was soooo tiring but hubby got snorkel out and he saw some jellyfish!

Glad you enjoyed it. I am flying out in 6 hours for 10 days, 3rd trip but still SO much more to see and do.

In Ibiza. once just isnt enough.

:)

If/When we go again I'm gonna have to be brave and hire a car cos the amount of money spent on buses here there and everywhere for the 4 of us was ridiculous! 8O

But the driving over there seamed so scarey. We were in a taxi with a very nice driver but he was about 3 foot from the car in front and he was on his phone!! 8O8O

Drivers over there seam like nutters, I thought London was bad lol

NAh the don;t know how to drive.Stick a taxi driver in London or any busy city and they would think the same.At least brits know how to use an island. And keep up with the flow of traffic.
One hand on wheel other hand out of window.Any trouble press horn a few times. And shout British....Its fun and great as you can go anywhere within 20 to 25 min drive.

Its the people on pushbikes you gotta watch out for in Ibiza town.Hanging on to your car.You can always tell a U.K driver As they stop at mark crossing. And wave the person on.For getting about the bike behind them that whizzes passed.

Actually now u mention it my son did see a guy on a skate board hanging onto a small lorry or a bus can't remember!

I treat the roads like a hazard perception test over here... good way to do it. I have so far been OK but agree that using your mobile whilst driving seems to be a common thing. Also as a pedestrian I am pleasantly surprised at how many people stop at zebra crossings - although they seem like they aren't going to until the very last second.

It's Spanish law that pedestrians have right of way at zebra crossings if I'm not mistaken ? Spanish just walk out onto them because motorists must stop (in theory !). Worst driving is by people on mopeds especially in the towns in August. The undercutting on both sides of your car near junctions is worst offence... but other than that I don't think the driving in Ibiza is bad at all really as long as you just go with the flow and keep your attention on what's going on around you. Seen far, far worse.

Having been to several Spanish resorts in the past, in my experience not all of them are as good at sticking to the law of the zebra crossing as here, so Ibiza wins hands down for me regarding that :)

True mopeds are nasty things - although I must confess that I do actually drive one but hopefully I am not one of the drivers who dart from each side of the road.

Roundabouts are my pet hate!

Roundabouts are my pet hate!

I taught a taxi driver the word roundabout, he loved it. Don't know whether he liked the word because he found it amusing or it was my accent, but he repeated it about 50 times. On top of that, he drove around the next roundabout three times whilst saying RRRRRRoundabout. Wouldn't have minded, except I was due at the airport.
