Just announced: Swedish House Mafia Confirm Dates at Ushuaïa

Well, I've just bought a pair of tickets to the opening party. I was tempted in the first place, but seeing as there are 400 earlybird tickets @ €25 discount at the moment (On Ushuaia's site), it means I can put the €50 saving towards an effectively free ticket for Cream the following night.:D

What I'd like to know is when they were allegedly performing as SHM in Ibiza last year, but not all of them there, was whether they were billed, and most importantly paid, as SHM elsewhere on the same dates.

If so, that's great business:lol:

"We're a bigname trio so we cost 3 times as much, but we get the crowds in....."

*whispers* "Result lads, we can get paid for 3 gigs each at the same time!"

SHM @ Ushuaia - What should I expect?

Hi!

New to the forums and though I might ask from some advice from the seasoned Ibiza travellers. Sorry if something similar has been asked, searched back some old threads and couldn't find the info I was hoping for.

Heading out to Ibiza the last week of August and I couldn't resist the SHM closing party at Ushuaia when I saw it on the party calender. Now I know to expect to pay a fortune if I plan to buy any drinks like most big parties/club nights but its a one off and probably the only big party we'll go to while we're on the island.

I was told it might be an idea to enjoy relaxing on the beach nearby for a while first with a few bottles bought from the local shop then head into Ushuaia when we're well watered. But if we do that, whats the best time to head into Ushuaia? My ticket says it opens at 5pm, but what time would SHM actually come on at? If we go at 5pm, what should we expect? Does anyone have any advice or tips? Am I sure it says it closes at 12am.

Always loved SHM but was totally blown away when I saw them at T in the Park, so really looking forward to it!

Thanks in advance for any replies!

I'd say the 8-12 period is the best time to be inside.

The drinks aren't quite as expensive as the big clubs. Not dive bar cheap either, of course. They do have annoying token payment system (buy tokens at one stand, use them to buy drinks at bar.)

You can spend your afternoon however you'd like!

Its the first year they've had tis residencey so hard to say exactly when they'll be on but keep checking the forums and the review sectio leading up to your trip and i'm sure ppl will have posted their experiences of the party so you can get a better idea

I was at the SHM closing party at Ushuaia last year. It was a great night. We got there about 6pm and it was already busy. SHM came on about 9pm and played through till closing at midnight. Drinks are just as expensive as all the other clubs so expect to pay 10€ for a beer, 15€ for a spirit/mixer and €7 for water/soft drink. Drinks are purchased using a voucher system. Although it was advertised as a pool party nobody was acutally allowed in the pool except for the end of the night when everyone just jumped in and securty could do nothing about it

Hope you have a great time 8)

Pretty much what the other have said.

Enjoy yourself on the beach and at the beach bars (of which there is a couple of new ones this summer) and maybe aim to get in there for 8.

the only thing i would say is that particular show is going to be very very busy and the queue to get in will be big. in my experience the queue to get into Ushuaia doesn't move very quickly!

If you're talking about the deep pool, if I were organizing, I would never let anyone in there. Accident waiting to happen :!:

However, when I was at Ushuaia last September, there were no restrictions on people dancing about in the shallow pool, and plenty of folks were doing it.

Jesus pose, ****e tunes and sun glasses

You cannae beat a big massive pair of sunglasses! ;)

Wow! Thanks very much for all the tips so far - CANNOT wait! Liking the idea of chillin' on the beach for a few hours with a few vodkas, then heading in about 7:30ish. Bought my tickets on here last night. Not niave enough to think there won't be a queue, but hopefully we won't have to wait as long if we're going through the guestlist entrance.

And would love a wee splash in the pool if I didn't have a phone/camera to worry about!

I was also at the shm closing last year [shudder] and you could go in the small pool at the back! Didn't think the queueing was that bad to get in, but getting out was very dangerous. People tripping over the little metal lip on the bottom of the exit, and everyone else kept coming through, not well lit at all-could have been some serious injuries.

I'd plan to get in for 7, watch the vibe change before they get on and press play on the cd

ive not been to ushuaia before guys i know its a hotel what time are they likely to be on until is it likely they'll get a residency at privilege still as they wednesday night is still empty on the calender...... x
