Didn't put hen party in the title otherwise you wouldn't have read it!!! This wasn't your typical cheesy hen party, more like a girly holiday mixed in with clubbing to celebrate my up & coming marriage.

Wednesday 23rd July
Had some of girls around for a few glasses of Pimms before our flight. Luckily it was a stunning day so sat in the garden. Everyone is mega excited and on top form. We get our taxi to the airport with plenty of time, so had a couple of drinks in the bar. We get to Ibiza around midnight. Get to our apartment (Poseidon apartments-just outside Playa D’en Bossa. Not a good start, reception was closed, so we didn’t know where to get our key. Luckily another guest told us to go to Playa Sol Apartments to check in. Got our key, but the key who showed us to our room said it was only for 4 people!! So I’m panicking at this stage and imagining someone having to share a single bed. All is well though and there are 5 beds in the apartment. It’s quite small but everyone is pleased, it’s nice, clean and we have a great sea view from our balcony. No clubbing tonight as by the time we went into Playa D’en Bossa for a wonder and food it was 3am.

Thursday 24th July
Had a lovely relaxing time chilling by the pool. Wondered into Playa D’en Bossa to stock up on food, drink etc. Got tickets for cream at 45€ each, tried to get them a little cheaper, rep were having none of it! Didn’t get to Amnesia until 1.30am, as you can imagine takes ages for 5 girls to get ready with only one bathroom! :) Amnesia was rammed when you got there. Caught half of Above & Beyond’s set which I really enjoyed. Best was Ferry Corsten, who played some nice trance classics, reminded me of going to Gatecrasher in Sheffield in my early 20’s. Lots of Brits in there and felt a little old. Highlight was standing under the ice cannon! Loved this. We left about 5.30 am, wasn’t really into Eddie Halliwell who was on after, it got a little chavvy, people chanting “Eddie, Eddie” and whooping. All in all a top first night!

Friday 25th July
I was up early compared to the rest of the sleeping beauties. Really excited as the rest of the girls were arriving today. Had everyone around our apartment to kick off the party. Few drinks & a few hen games. Luckily no L plates or tacky veils phew! Couple of the girls kindly went into Playa d’en Bossa to sort Pacha tickets. We were going to go to the restaurant, but they wanted €300 deposit as it was a large group, so gave it a miss. Nightmare getting taxis again, so didn’t make it in there until 1.30am. Pacha was even more rammed then Amnesia! Turned out to be my best night! I wasn’t going to do a hen theme as wasn’t sure if that would go down well in Ibiza, but at the last minute decided on doing a nautical theme. Have to say it went down very well, loads of people took pics with us and did ahoy poses. Loved Pacha, even though it was hard to explore as it was so packed! Thought it was going to be pretentious but there was a good crowd, apart from a few sleazy Italians trying to cop off with you. Too many VIP areas though and tw*ty security, wasn’t even allowed to sit on the wall on the outside of the VIP area! Some how we managed to get into a VIP bit after meeting some sound lads from Essex. Loved Fedde Le Grand, Faithless All Stars also played, but not sure if I missed them or got the wrong room? I did see Maxi Jazz wondering about though. Stayed until the end, it closed at 6.40am, they must have got fined for that. Few of the girls carried on, but for me my bed was calling. :)
Saturday 26th July
Up just after lunch time. Headed to the beach to find some of the girls sleeping on the beach, not looking too healthy! Had some food at Bora Bora and waited for the tunes to kick in. Loads of beautiful people who looked a bit serious, not sure if they were enjoying themselves or just posing? Made for great eye candy though! 8) Later we when to San Antonio for the sunset, not all of us went as a few girls made themselves ill! We weren’t sure if we’d make the sunset as it took us ages to get a taxi again, my only gripe about where we were. Made it up there at 8.30pm, luckily a couple of the other girls had been there a while and saved a great table at Savannahs. Had a bit of wine and enjoyed the sunset. Nice vibe down there, loads more Brits too. Walked along to Kasbahs for a few more drinks and some great food. Not cheap, but good quality compared to Playa d’en Bossa. We were going to go to Kanya for another drink, but the stuff were quite rude & it was dead, so decided to walk to the taxi rank. Hadn’t been to this part of San An, and glad I wasn’t there! Typical behaviour from Brits which gives Ibiza a bad name, fighting in the taxi rank & unpleasant pi**edness, glad we were staying away from this.

Sunday 27th July
Had a lovely long sleep to re-charge those batteries for Space!! Got our tickets, but didn’t make it to Space until 7pm, don’t know what we were doing all that time? Only stayed a couple of hours to make use of our pass-outs. Total waste really, left about 9pm to go back to the apartment for more drinks & to change. One friend didn’t end up going as felt too ill. The bouncers did say we could go back at anytime, but the ticket reps told us not to chance it and we should be back about 11pm otherwise we’d have to pay again. Caught the end of Tom Novy which I enjoyed, quite happy tunes. Not sure who was on after, but it turned a bit too dark for me and I felt like a zombie. Went into the other room and that was even worse, plump djs were playing, not sure if it was the music or the acoustics, but sounded rubbish in there, even though it was nice & cool. I remembered last time I was in Space didn’t like that room either. Managed to find a nice little terrace room, not sure the name of it. Space residents were in there, music was quiet, but nice atmosphere in there and some nice happy tunes. Left around 5am, our feet were killing. Walked back to apartments, loads of horrible guys driving around off their heads or pi**ed & stopping cars trying to give us lifts or asking if we want to go to the beach. Ha ha not that stupid!

Monday 28th July
Up at 10.30am to pack as we had to vacate at 12pm. I was starting to feel it now & could have done with some extra kip! Still it wasn’t that bad, we wanted to make the most of it, so went to Ibiza town for a wonder and a lovely seafood lunch. Had a good old gossip about the whole trip and how much we all enjoyed ourselves. Wondered back to Bora Bora for a last swim, couple of drinks and to say goodbye to the rest of the girls.

All in all a fantastic trip, great send off to married life! This was going to be my last time to Ibiza as a clubber, but think I’ll have to go one more time next year! Yes there’s more police presence and security, and it’s even more expensive with the cr*ppy exchange rate. But it’s still an amazing place and I love it. Thanks to all my wonderful friends who gave me a fab time. BIG LOVE! :)

And p.s. not really finding any problems with the no day time clubbing as I never really did that in the first place. I think if you want it you can still find it anyway. There was a bar near where I was, but never went. Looked like people were enjoying themselves there at 10 am!

Nice review, glad you had a good send off!

Where exactly are the Poseidon apartments, looked at them for a week in September but couldn't really locate them!

They are in the Es Vive area towards Figueretas. Heard of the Es Vive hotel? Just down the same road. Would say it's quite a good place to stay, but a nightmare to get taxis at times. It's still a walk into Playa D'en Bossa which is a bit of a bummer during the midday heat, we always walked along the beach, much quicker and cooler. Fairly cheap if you fill up the apartment too. We paid £17 ach a night based on 5 sharing ! 8)

Pure Pacha on Friday was my best night of the week!!! Hopefully in September there'll be a little more room for you to move!
