Is Jockey Club shooting itself in the hoof ?

Just returned from Ibiza, spent quite a bit of time on Salinas where I discovered that Jockey were now charging €10 for a bed & €10 for an umbrella PLUS a €50 per person charge for drinks or food to be taken on the beach ( you can’t even go in to Jockey and use up some of your €50 in the shade of the restaurant )

It makes Malibu look cheap by comparison.

It becomes an expensive day on the beach if your determined to hang out with the trendy set !!!!

look at this way, were there any lager swilling hooligans from way out west taking advantage of the €50 delivery charge??

We payed 100 euros for a bed in Blue Marlin. Day at the beach ended up with us paying a 750 euro bill. Keeping up with the El Jones'!!!!

Wow! for a strand of beach with no sand.
Gone the days when la communidad started there and it was all free and drinks were quite cheap.

Sam - next time you go to Jondel - try the other end of the "beach" - give Tropicana a go.

€9 for a bed - clean white sheets & waiter service to your bed + there is a bit of sand & you can actually get into the water without breaking your neck.

world hasn't gone mad; Ibiza's gone mad (well greedy...). Come down to Brighton mate you can get a beach deck chair for £1 a day, or they're free on the pier!

Stingray – it’s an option BUTIt’s not Ibiza – the weathers not the same – the view is not of a clear blue sea & Formantera – the people are certainly not the same or as interesting.

No - all things considered I’ll stick with Salianas – and am happy to pay my €6 to be either side of Jockey & pop in for a nice cold beer for €3 when I need one.

€3 for a beer???? the world has gone mad!

Sorry Stephen - it was actually €2.50 for a small canya and worth every cent.

But if your counting your Euros its only €1.50 for a small beer at the San Francisco bar on the way home & again well worth it - if you can get parked.
