Jellyfish warning

My wife got stung on the Cala Salada Beach last Wednesday, as did loads of others.
I never really took jellyfish that seriously in the past, but she said for half an hour she'd never experienced such pain!
There were loads at Es vedra beach on Friday as well.
Just a warning to be careful on the west coast!

The quick fix remedy is to piss on the sting. I haven't tried it myself, but it just may help other's.

 wind up surely? i can just imagine asking the missus to lie on the beach after a sting and me standing there over her!!!

I got stung by a Jellyfish last week, just outside Bora Bora. Luckily it was a pretty small one. You should use a credit card or something similar to try and scrape off all the slime crap that it leaves. It can hurt but it helps!

piss is the best way, trust me! takes the pain away very quicly! if u go to salinas and see a small very tanned guy, dark hair go to him, he has every cream and all the stuff (he is a lifeguard) always situated btw malibu and jockey club! good luck with the jellyfish!

It's a placebo, if somebody pisses on you - you got to believe it's doing you good!

"Urine consists of water and waste products of the body's blood stream, which includes ammonia -- the reason for its legendary use. Depending on the person -- and whether he or she is dehydrated, diabetic, on a protein diet, or dealing with myriad other conditions -- urine may or may not be about as good as fresh water. In fact, urine contains so much fresh water that stranded folks can drink their own urine to survive (don't worry, I'm cringing at the idea, too). Since we know fresh water will often make nematocysts fire, the logical conclusion is that urine will do the same thing. Urine has about a 50/50 track record on the Internet. Many anonymous bloggers sing the praises of this readily available wonder tonic, but research just hasn't supported the claims. Others tell stories of urine not working at all. I've yet to read any supposed first-hand claims that urine made the pain of a jellyfish sting worse."
