All day there was talk of "It would be so great if the Japanese horse could win the world cup". The most valuable race in the world, worth £3,000,000 plus. Most horse racing folks were secretly and not so secretly hoping the Japanese horse(s) could win the race. Not only did they win the race, they had the 1-2, it was sooooooo great to see the guys celebrating afterwards. Some might argue the guys involved are far removed from thoses losing entire families in the devastation, but from what I have seen, the Japanese people are 'more in this together' than any other nation in the world. It has been my sporting highlight of the year.
