Wohoo i'm first with the new year chart action! Get involved! :D

Layo & Bushwacka - saw you
Nice driving filler track from L&B. Should be a great one for warming up to some big electro/blippy stuff.

Jussi Pekka - Dead Serious
Pretty dark electro sounding track. Dirty Lo-fi bass riffs matched with the odd 909 style percussion. I like it anyways :)

Deepchild - Blackness of the Sea (Deepchild mix)
As the title suggests, a deep track! Great rhythms for a slow track, nice vocals on it too.

Sebastian Leger - Take Your Pills
Hard to miss this one really. Pumped up blippy electro stuff. Simple but effective vox of course ;)

John Starlight - Deep Down
I'm a fan of starlight, his stuff is always twisted as hell and this one is no different! The piano bit cracks me up everytime. DARK!!

Huggotron and the Mighty Quark - Zoo 85
Huggotron is fast becoming hot property. Could be the next John Dahlback! Dirty lo-fi sound as per usual. Repetitive but a solid track none the less.

Four Tet ft. Percee P - a joy (koushiks quick mix)
I dont like hip-hop but this is the coolest ****!

Click Box - Desafinados
More lo-fi electro stuff. This is prob the most analog track of my selection tho.

1. Defender - Defender [Vulture]
Awesome slab of twisting, full-on filtered French house!

2. Herd & Fitz ft. Abigail Bailey - I Just Can't Get Enough (DJ Antoine vs. Mad Mark Club Mix) [Egoiste]
Uses the original vocal to great effect but then adds a pounding electro house backing - about as far away from the piano-house original as you can get! On vinyl only - cat. no. EGO 37 - grab it now!

3. Cyantific vs. Logistics - Flashback [Hospital / Fabric]
Awesome liquid funk D'n'B tune not due out till March but was featured on High Contrast's Fabriclive mix.

4. Scandalous Unlimited ft. Purple, Doctor & Plan B - Broken Wings [True Tiger]
This brilliant tune is taken from True Tiger's new mix CD "Eye Of The Tiger". Buy it for the bargain price of £5.99 - it's brilliant: http://www.myspace.com/truetigerrecordings

5. Duncan Powell ft. Ripper, J2K & Purple - Thinking Of You [True Tiger]
As above

6. Wiley ft. Purple - Blowin Up [True Tiger]
Probably the most obvious choice for a single on the mix CD, this is huge.

7. Danism - Glance, Look. Stare [Milk N 2 Sugars]
Dan from Liquid People and D'n'B heavyweight Nu:Tone combine to give us this uplifiting house cut on the consistently-brilliant MN2S label.

8. Sub Focus - Citizen Kane [Ram]
Sub Focus had a brilliant 2005 and this tune, taken from the "Dimensions EP", was a superb way to round off the year.

9. Alex Arestegui - Proem (Alucard Remix) [MPFS Records]
Alucard a.k.a Peter McCowan is, in my opinion, one of the most talented young producers in the entire music scene right now. This mix makes brilliant use of sidechaining and features a breakdown to die for.

10. Matthew Dekay - Clearing The Mind [Electronic Elements]
This tune has grown on me like an unhealthy rash. Always gets my head nodding.

I can't stand this tune! Annoying repetitive single note bassline that doesn't go anywhere and boring percussion that sounds like a million other tunes! Grrrrrrr!!!

It's all about Freeform Five - "No More Conversations (Mylo Remix)" for the electro tip.

1. Untight - Groove Rebels // Great Stuff
Mindf*&kery of the highest order with a ping-pong synth line that gets into your skull and ricochets around until the phat bass kicks in, huge!

2. Voltage controlled (Klaus Schnieder mix) - Kevin Rocks // Fullscale
Stripped back, crisp and clattering percussion with that crackly low-fi bottom end. Sounds like mice dancing on the tone-arm. Very German, very 'now', very nice!

3. Thinking aloud - Tim Davison // CDR
Tight, energetic, bigroom electro-prog house with a killer hook! Forthcoming on the Cheshire Catz new label (I hear the 2nd release will be great too ;) ), Tim's productions are just AWESOME - definitely one to watch for 2006..

4. Moogment - Alex McCulloch // SR2
The hint is in the name, kids. Moogy bassline with funk guitars and driving percussion - loads of dancefloor energy and Alex's typically tight production. Lovely.

5. 4 ur ears (Daniel Taylor rmx) - Timo Maas feat. Kelis // CDR
Daniel Taylor has to be one of the most technically and musically gifted young producers out there at the moment. This cheeky remix of one of the tracks from Timo Maas' Pictures long player is further proof. Minimal and stark but funkier than mouldy stilton ;)

6. Snakeskin - Mark Sun // CDR
The aforementioned second release on The Cheshire Catz yet-to-be-named label - I've had pandemonium ensue everytime I've played this, so I'm really excited that it's been picked up.. coming soon(ish) to a record store near you! ;)

7. Serenetti EP - Trentemoller // Tic Tac Toe
All three tracks on this EP are brilliant, but the title track is my favourite - stays true to Trentemoller's unique style: rumbling, squelchy and just delicious.

8. Dust funk - Timo Garcia & The Cheshire Catz // Berwick Street Records CDR
Big, bad and bassey, after the massive reaction to 'Discotech', looking forward to seeing what this one does, as I like it even more.

9. Fire in the hole - David Sense // CDR
Lovely, low-end-heavy chugging electro from this Norwegian producer. Tight-as-you-like production and a sweet breakdown.

10. Inferno - Silicon Soul // Soma
The Darkroom dubs side of SS comes out to play with an eerie twilight zone theramin-sounding synth and a gorgeous thumping bassline.
