Jabeque or Mare Nostrum

I booked the Jabeque a while a go for September, I am bit confused because some people say it is only a 10/15 minute walk to Bora Bora etc, but others say it is about 25 minutes, which google maps confirms. We are considering changing to the mare Nostrum, but we know the rooms are smaller there. Can anyone give any advice on either the two? I do love the look of the Jabeque, but I don;t want to be there if it is going to be really quiet and far away from the action.

I stayed in Jabeque during the openings this year, with nice balcony view. It's almost @ the figueretas strip, don't know exactly how much it took to borabora, but it all depends on the state you're in... You can do the whole walk next to the beach, did it a lot in the mornings with the sunrise before going to sleep. I really enjoyed Jabeque, big rooms & balcony, also fridge & kitchen (although possibly never used), but I like the 'tranquillity' & peace from Figueretas over the 'crazyness' of PdB.

If u want to be closer to the action, mare nostrum is 5 min closer or so(gonna do the closings there) & hey, who cares if the rooms are smaller?
Besides sleeping etc... you don't do lot's there no? ;)

10 min stroll along beach to get to bora bora.turn left out of hotel.walk along street.then go past the torra del mar hotel on the left.you will see a footpath go through that.walk along prom bit past the tres carabelas sea to you left.you will see a jetty where you get boats.hop on to beach walk along 10 mins depends how fast you walk.
if you turn right out of hotel untill you see the Prince bar.turn right on to figueretas prom.5 min if that.you can get to ibiza as well.easy walking.Jabeque street as a few bars on it.but if you turn right then left.up hill on the corner is a supermaket.and the main road with fag shop on it and bars.ect.its a one way street hotel is on.no beach at the back of hotel.just rocks.but its not far to walk to fig beach or pdb beach.
is it late sept your going?.the area you in is really called Es Vive thats why the hotel further up is named that.its a nice walk to bora bora and back.

I'm staying at The Jabeque in Sept after staying at The Goleta in July and Bora Bora, Jet etc are only 15 mins walk tops if you just walk straight along the beach. If you go the road way it's slightly longer though

Mare Nostrum and Jabeque are only 5 mins or so apart. We're at the Jabeque for the 2nd time in Sept, really good value for a huge apartment. Mare Nostrum is slightly livelier but the rooms are tiny.

Yeah the reason we booked this hotel initially was due to the size of the rooms and the fact we wanted a fridge too, just to keep drinks in. Our friends booked after us, and are booked into the Tivoli which seems a lot closer than we are. So we are having doubts! We don't really want to spend any more to move though and we got a cheap deal when we booked the jabeque. It has gone up quite a lot now. So the only place we could move to without paying more is mare nostrum. If its only 5 minutes apart it hardly seems that worth it. I was just a little concerned about the distance and if the hotel was going to have other people who are going to the clubs etc there. Yeah I am going late September, go on the 28th! 6 weeks tomorrow... Not that I'm counting haha!

quite s/c place anyway so you should get a good nights sleep.when you get there you will wonder what all the fuss was about..

"we want to be together"

We're at the Jabeque from Sept 28th too, can't believe it's only 6 weeks away! How long are you there for? We were there at that time last September too and it was spot on. My brother and his friend are at the Mare Nostrum over the same dates so will be between the 2 places a fair bit, it's not far at all.

Flying from Stanstead. What about you? What nights are you planning? I'm buzzing for it, there are some mental parties over that weekend!

We are flying from Luton, land at 9pm. I think we are going to go to either carnival closing or defected closing on the Saturday, I'm leading towards defected cause I love eats everything so much, but then I really want to go to Sankeys, so I'm debating that one. Sunday doing the we love closing, was debating between we love and viva warriors, but we love has to be done I think! Monday definitely cocoon! Nothing is massively catching my mind for the Tuesday so will go with the flow. Chilled night Wednesday (well that's what we are telling ourselves) as our flight back is 9.30am. What are your plans?

That's not too bad. We get in about 6pm. Going to Defected on the Saturday, the lineup is insane! I was at Defected opening at Sankeys in June, Eats Everything and Derrick Carter were unreal. Going to We Love on the Sunday - really looking forward to Zabiela & Bicep. Monday I guess will be Circo Loco then Cocoon, home on Tuesday. How many in your group? Should get some apartment pre-parties going.

2 of us are staying here but then other friends finally booked last Friday, there are 4 of them saying at the Tivoli, they go on the 27th. Don't think they fancied staying further away like we are! I have been desperate to change hotels all day haha, I feel better now I know we won't be the only ones there! I am buzzing for cocoon more than anything! Yeah you're right defected line up does look amazing, can't go wrong with MK and Eats Everything! I wonder what that booom place is like though, I heard it is small.

We've had a similar thing with booking. Just 2 of us booked at the Jabeque, 2 more meant to be coming but taking forever to get sorted. My brother and his mate get there on the 24th and are there til we leave but they're at Mare Nostrum.

I'm quite keen to check Booom out, smaller clubs can have a really good atmosphere and I bet that night will be sick. Those 2, Noir, Nick Curly and Tensnake too, it'll be nuts. Somehow I've never been to Cocoon, but I think Circo Loco is too good to miss too so going to attempt both. That'll be out last night so got to go out with a bang. Honestly you can't go wrong with the Jabeque, it takes no time to get back to PDB and the apartments and pools are really good for the money.

Ahhhhh I'm getting so excited talking about it! We will definitely have to arrange to meet up as we are at the same hotel and doing the same nights more or less!

Personally i think it's ideal to be at the north end of PdB because you are away from the noise if you want to sleep during the day but only 15 mins away from the madness if you want to get on it during the day. Jet is banging from lunchtime so if you have only got into bed at 9am that's not ideal :)

Sounds like a plan. I'll drop you a private message with my phone number at some point before we go.

Cool! 6 weeks today, really can't wait now! Add me on Facebook if you have it, it's Amber Howard and my location is Reading which should make it easier to find. My picture is 2 girls with a pitcher of cocktail haha!

The tivoli is slightly closer than mare nostrum and comparable price. Rooms for 2 have a big lounge and separate bedroom
