I've been back a week...

Thought I'd register seeing as I've been reading and making use of all in the stuff on this site for a couple years! Thanks for all the info spotlight and forum people.

Just got back from a two week stay at the ses savines appts in San An (in between centre and the bay).

As per usual didn't get round to doing half the things I intended - too many good ideas from reading the forums to get to do them all! 8)

Club nights were a bit unexpected becuase to due to a stomach upset which lasted two weeks had to kind of make it up as we went along. Went to:

Eden - Retro (was going to El Divino Salvacion but bus journey was a no no 8O) .. got free tickets so despite swearing to avoid it after a Judges Jules visit two years ago, we went) Some good tunes and the night always seems better when FREE.... although the greatest entertainment came from the bar where I lost count of the number of beer boys saying - one bottle of beer - HOW MUCH?! Can I have two for one? Very funny (until I had to buy a drink...)

Privilege - Pasion de Ibiza. We planned this on on seeing a flyer thinking it would balearic influenced music - don't know if it was or not but it was a good effort. Free tickets again and only heard English spoken by one other person....nice to see lots of Spanish people out. Good night with a good vocalist popping on and off stage with some other live percussion going on. Music was a bit odd but good none the less.

Es paradis - Sammy. Missus insisted honest guv'. Think he only had one new tune (The rise - what's he been doing for the past year? :? ) which was a bit of a con and he unashamedly plugged it to death - I quote "It's a beautiful Ibiza tune for all you beautiful people". Cheesy but I hate to admit very good entertainment cos lots of classics were played as well. It was also the water party which was good to watch but I didn't partake myself. To clarify on the water situation - it starts off clean but as people have been dancing and smoking in the swimming all night (before it's filled) the water's bound to a bit minging by the time if fills.

Amnesia - Samurai/ Made in Italy. Bit hard for the missus but my best night! Absolutely f****** rammed though (both rooms) and very hot. Didn't think it was that popular but still exceptional.

Pacha and El divino had to fall by the wayside this year due to too much beer on non-club days, rich food, illness, getting old....

Hired a car for the first time for five days, planned on a small car but got upgraded to a people carrier 8O Not what I wanted to drive on the first outing round the island.... still, survived just about - had a near death experience just outside St Gertrudis on the way the St Miguel caves (or was it Portinatx?). Word of Warning - DO NOT trust anyone's indicators - they leave them on all the time....oops.

also did loads of other things, mini golf, west end, witnessed Trevs' bar entrance get demolished by Spanish driver who legged it after doing a fair bit of damage and leaving his missus/mother in the car and stuffing up a taxi drivers evening and another car....followed him and got a free beer and brandy for the missus! woohoo (although if we'd left 30 seconds earlier it could have been a squishing).

There's so much more I could write, I gave up clubbing for years and only rediscovered the delights on Ibiza a year or two ago although no longer know anyone over here who goes anymore. Basically, I did some clubbing, lots of pubbing/eating, visited lots of places and did loads of cheasy tourist things. Also saw a couple of festival things and attempted a few words in Spanish. I love it all but it is definitely quieter in the bay area and Playa De'n Bossa this year. Didn't have any trouble, even in the west end which I thought was tame (again) compared to all the horror stories...obviously there are a few complete buffoons but even they didn't cause any trouble.

Started back at work yesterday and needless to say, I am not currently a very happy shopper. Still, better start planning next year - it's only 12 months away

Glad to hear you had a good time and sorry about your stomach upset.

Soon it's my turn! (hopefully not on the stomach upset side though ;) )

Hope you have a fantastic time, I definitely did despite stomach issues! Which I suspect were brought on by an unhealthy diet of rich food, san miguel, Gin, and a huge amount of nice spanish fairy cake things from the supermarkets! (plus some other things maybe) :D

ses sevines

hey !!

did u enjoy the ses sevines apartments ?
ive been to the hotel 4 times (i think :? ) and its great !

Yes we did enjoy staying there, the position was superb, staff friendly and food in the cafe was pretty good.

Only downside is the the pool area and cr*p cutlery! Would definitely go again but am trying the Arenal this time.....a better sea view. It's also inbetween my fave pre-club bars Itaca and the Bay bar!:D Flamin' 6 months to wait though:(

hey! just wanderin how u got free tickets and if anyone had herd wot the appts caled calas de ibiza are like?! gr8 to heer ne goss on what there like!

Free/cheap tickets are a bit hit and miss really, we basically went out for some nosh and drinks about half nine/ten ish and then checked out prices and which nights we may want to go to - always had one in mind but would've changed if the prices were right!:D

Walk along the front (depends where you're staying, if in San An then remember to look at Blue bay bar) to see a few club prices (they can differ quite dramatically from place to place) and then went back to the appts for a while. Went out about half past one and looked back along the same club outlets seeing what prices had been reduced (if any!). If they're cheap enough some PR's will give them for free maybe just for going in for a drink.

Basically, if you shop around very late then you may find some good deals. The big nights never get reduced though so we'll probbaly do similar this year, 2 big nights out, 2 attempted cheaper ones in the big clubs then other places for the rest... 9 weeks and most definitely counting - trying the Arenal this time:D :D :D

(Eden tickets - just walk round between the Bar M area and the harbour and you may get some)
