I am going to treat myself to a new laptop at xmas. I currently use my mother in laws pc for my itunes. No I have appox 15gb of stuff on there and am loathe to have to start again. Is there anyway I can transfer it over when I start up my new itunes on my new laptop??

Oh I asked this question a while back - I think the answer was to put it on a back-up hard drive.

Hang on I'll try and find the thread.

thanks babs

didnt read it all, just skipped over it, but basically I can do it without having to buy an external hard drive.

excellent :)

I must get more in tune with the IT generation.... I'm totally un-clued up on Ipods and downloads and things....

I was just over a year ago and now I wonder how I ever managed without it, it has seriously changed my life and freed up some space in the dining room as I have transferred all my cd's to the loft. ;)

The thing is when I was like 14-20yrs old I was sooo up to date on everything IT. I had a PC at home and I would always download the latest things onto it, since the whole Ipod/MP3 player genre has emerged I've just got totally left behind. Jon's got an Ipod but I haven't got the faintest idea how Itunes works!

I will get myself an Ipod and read the instructions properly lol.

Tbh cos I don't understand downloading and all that malarky the main use of it is post-clubbing so you don't end up with 54823227048623 CDs to put away the next day and on holiday cos you can basically take your full CD collection with you.

exactly, dunno how many hours I used to waste trying to find sashas gu 13 amongst 300 odd cds (or 600 as it would look ;)) with everyone shouting at me to hurry up, so much easier now
