my vacation was from the 2nd till the 9th of august.
4 of us stayed in an apartment we rented in figueretas (right across the road from central playa hotel).
that was my 4th time on the island but the crew i went with (the other 3 people) were all ibiza virgins.
and now to the review itself...

monday, 2nd of august
a delay in our flight causes us to arrive too late and not be able to make it to DC10  however things only got better from here.
a quick meal at "coco roco" and off we go to bora bora. dj gee is rocking the croud as expected and the atmosphere is sky high (bora bora IS ibiza). staying until it ends in midnight and then off to the apartment to get dressed and hit cocoon @ amnesia later on.
arriving to amnesia at about 2am to catch laurent garnier playing a mixture of house, electro-tech, acid and even a few breaks. croud is still warming up and u can sense something big is gonna happen.
then a few hours later the legend himself steps on top of the horse and does what he knows best - kick some major ass. give it up for sven vath, as he plays his well known german electro-techno style, not too banging though (and i like it banging  ).
somewhere in between i met magnetikka from spotlight. nice to meet u girl :)
party ended a bit after 7:00 and for some reason we didn't bother with the not-so-secret-anymore cocoon after party. ah well, i'll just try making it coming september.

tuesday, 3rd of august
heading to san an's streets in the afternoon to do the usual tourist shopping (hey i was there with 3 virgins ;) ). then off to cafe del mar for a sangaria and the sunset thing.
back to the apartment for a quick cloths change-up and then off to catch carl cox rocking space. and boy did he rock!
but before cox we heard one of italian's biggest talents - francesco farfa who was on top form and played some electric tech house. when he dropped his own sunner hit 'universal love' the place went mental.
after him the big man came on and started a bit low but then built the set very well until he finished off with some banging techno.
among the tunes he played i spotted the likes of:
'renato cohen vs. tim deluxe - just kick (carl cox mix)'
the white stripes - seven nation army (tim deluxe remix)'
eric prydz - call on me
carl cox - give me your love

at the end of the night cox took on the mic and thanked the croud as it/we roared back in respect. a top night indeed, one of the best on the island.

wednesday, 4th of august
waking up at noon, doing the whole beaches thing in figueretas and eating in some fine restaurant (i forgot its name). then heading for a long walk in ibiza town.
in the evening we're off to bora bora again and getting on with the vibes there. did i mention bora bora is rocking every single day? i'm sure i did, but here - i just said it again :D.
bora bora is really the place to be during the evening-night hours.
this time it wasn't dj gee there but a nice dj called oliver lang who played a very well tech-house set where the highlight for me was 'chiapet - westworld (skylark remix)'. then he finished off with the legendary'knights of the jaguar'.
at night it was time to give a try to a new night on the island - meganite @ privilege.
when arriving mauro picotto is already in the dj booth and smiling happily at everyone while banging them with some funky techno tunes. after him chris liebing (my fav techno dj nowdays) goes up to play and is very energetic as usual and playing some faster harder techno (not schranz though). him and mauro seem to be really up for it and the croud is enjoying every minute of them. the duo takes off thier shirts and throw them to the croud as a gratitude. a really great night with an amazing atmosphere. i will be definitely going back to meganite. my best new comer on the island.
somewhen during the night i met makka from this forum and bump into magnetikka again. then in the morning we team up and head for an absolute (vodka) drink on the beach and then we're on our way to la troya carry on @ space. thanks for a lovely yet hazzy morning m&m (makka&magnetikka) :D

thursday, 5th of august
waking up in the afternoon and off to guess where? bora bora!
meeting there briggsie from spotlight and after having a drink we're in a proper mood to jump onto the tables and throw some shapes
at midnight when the bora bora thing ends we're off to get dressed and head to cream @ amnesia. the place is already rammed as expected and tiesto is playing mostly club anthems and trance hits from this year, combining it with a few productions from his recent 'just be' album and some of his own remixes.
at 4am paul van dyk goes up, hugs tiesto and takes on the lead.
he then plays awesome melodic vocal trance set with a few classics thrown into the mix. a very identical set to the one i heard him playing last year. with tunes like:
andain - beautiful things
paul van dyk - crush
paul van dyk - time of our lives
chicane - saltwater
rank 1 - airwave (2003 remix)

etc.
croud really seemed to love him as always and the vibes were awesome.
just 1 regret i have from this night and that's forgetting to check the shapeshifters playing live on the terrace.

friday, 6th of august
it's time for essential selection @ cafe mambo. off we go to san an and eat in a nice italian restaurant called "david's". then it's mambo time. we arrive at about 19:00 and i must tell u that i've never seen the place so packed. all the beaches in the area were also very crouded. it really had a party atmosphere rather than a chillout beach bar one. i bump into makka again, hey there :p
we hear a live performance by david guetta featuring his new tune 'stay', a short set by tim deluxe, sunset mix by pete gooding, a splendid live sunset tune by 'a man called adam' and the cream of the crop - a 30 minutes set by none other than sasha, who played a fabulous new tune by a talent producer from my country; 'guy gerber - stopage time'.
then back to the apartment to get prepared for the night as we're gonna get defected at el divino.
junior jack, kid creme and sandy rivera play there and all of them throw into the mix 3-4 tunes produced and/or remixed by themselve (which is not a bad thing, on the contrary). a top night with funky good tunes and the croud really seems to be loving it. i missed andy daniell playing at the beginning but at least i caught him near the end of the party for a very short conversation

saturday, 7th of august
waking up at noon, doing a tour in the old city of ibiza and in the seaport area. then off to the secret radio1 party in the old zoo up on the hills (that are found on the way to san an). upon arrival we rush inside as we hear our good friends the flash brothers starting to perform thier tune 'amen' with a live singer. croud is already at its best and seem to be dancing like there's no tomorow. after flash brothers end above & beyond takes the lead and smash the croud with some of thier recent tunes ('no one on earth', 'silence' remix, etc). then it's judge jules turn to go up. he played some fine trance tunes while finishing off with his own remix to the incredible 'brainbug - nightmare'. croud really went wild at this point.
a fantastic party radio1 had pulled. i guess it was smart to keep it a secret and limited after all as it wasnt too packed (like last years) and there werent any unwanted or bad croud there. only up for it people who can easily be spotted as having the time of thier lives.
off to the apartment for a few short minutes and then we're again on the road to san an, but this time we stopped in the middle of the way for the best club in the world - amnesia!
yes its time for the radio1 & cream massive party there.
we enter to the main room and hear the last few minutes of gabriel & dresden. on the terrace we noticed that jon carter is about to finish his set as well.
off to the main room to catch the flying dutch - armin van buuren who as always was on top form and played a splendid melodic vocal trance set. jumping onto the terrace to realise seb is getting the croud dancing like crazy in there too. it was a really hard choice to make on whether to stay for the splendid house music on the terrace or to hit the main room for some of the best trance djs. eventually we decided to just hit the main room and stay there for a while cause the atmosphere was a bit better in the main room.
oakenfold took on the lead and played a smooth set followed by alot of euphoric sounds. the croud really got wild when oakey played 'southern sun' and his own remixes to 'U2 - beautiful day' and 'mauro picotto - lizard'.
then eddie halliwell went up and opened with a massive scratching ability followed by huge chants from the crowd. we all really loved it. he seemed very technicly skilled. afterwards he proceeded on with a banging progressive/hard trance set, i personally didn't like it so i headed to the terrace and caught seb playing. atmosphere on the terrace was really great too, as said earlier.
then again onto the main room to catch fergie tearing the roof off with some groundbreaking funky techno, really surprised me for the better so i just stayed there. in between i managed to scream a few 'happy days' shouts at the fergster
that's also when i met briggsie again and stayed next to her until the end of the night. was great dancing with u babe :D

sunday, 8th of august
arriving to sundays@space at 17:00. on my way to the terrace i met mattbrown and karl from this forum and bump into magnetikka again.
on the terrace one of space residents - jose divina - is playing on the terrace a proper funky house set.
then its danny rampling's turn to show what he got and he really got it going for him. i always liked him as a dj and now after hearing him play for the first time in a club i understand exactly why.
groove armada is up next with a live singer backing them up. they mostly played/performed thier own productions and the croud was absolutely into it and shaking that ass, shaking that ass, shaking that ass ;)
they finished off with one of last year's biggest anthem; 'linus loves - the terrace'.
and finally its the king of space himself, sir lawler, to show what he got. he plays a mixture of anthems we all know and love (or not) like 'planet funk - the switch (king unique remix)' and 'eric prydz - call on me', with a few classic songs he never gets bored of ('sweet dreams') and then towards the end smashes his latest acid house production 'lost' finished off with his own remix to the 2003 tune 'bombdogs - i cant explain'.
we really got the terrace at its best!
at midnight they were pulling down the curtain on the dj booth and that means the terrace has closed and everyone were about to head inside. i myself was using my 1 pass out ability and left for an hour of relaxtion combined with having a few drinks in the apartment, then going back to space for the inside session.
when entering i caught layo & bushwacka kicking it with some fine tech house (no 'love story' this time, unlike twice in the same set last year  ) and then the story of the night begins:
felix da housecat took on the lead and played some fine electro-tech, followed by 'silver screen shower scene', 'alter ego - rocker' and so on, when suddenly a funny looking black guy takes on the mic and starts rapping/MCing. yes you got that right - it was PUFF 'SEAN COMBS' DADDY who was a surprise guest and shouted (MCed) thru the rest of felix's set.
i myself don't like p.diddy, his music and everything he stands for, never did and probably never will, but i must admit that the croud really loved him and the atmosphere that p.diddy created in the first few minutes he went up was one such as i've never seen at space before. at this moment i had no other choice but to surrender to the amazing vibes and just flow on with the euphoric atmosphere in the club.
but then ofcourse puffy had to screw things over by runing his mouth too often when all of a sudden he turned down the music volume and shouted at the croud: "you don't appreciate the music". ofcourse the maddening croud got upset by that and started booing at the puffster. needless to say i joined and booed along with the rest (i just waited for this opportunity to shine in and it arrived! :p ). is this the end of p.diddy saga in ibiza? hopefully!... but i guess only time can tell.
during the end of night felix tries to save the night by throwing a bizzare remix of 'pink floyd - the wall' and 'filterheadz - yimana'. the place went mental again!
that more or less ended my sundays@space session and my ibiza vacation as a whole as i went to the apartment to catch a short 2 hours sleep and then off to the airport.

all in all that was the best vacation i ever had in ibiza, mostly because all the parties i chose to attend were off the hook with an amazing music, great vibes and a very up for it croud.

and to those who slate ibiza or say its not what it used to be i can only say that they are dead wrong and should take your p1ss elsewhere.

i'll post here a massive pictures gallery of my vacation as soon as i finish arranging and sorting all the 2000 pics me and my friends shot during the week there.
meanwhile i'll just keep on recovering until my next arrival to the island which is 1 month from now on september the 13th.
take care ya'll and remember:
1 island, 1 love and its called IBIZA.

there's no secret actually.
i just have alot of inner energies and combining them with my huge love for electronic dance music (house, techno, trance, electro, etc) they just explode and can get me going for hours over hours.

and NO - i didn't touch any drugs, believe it or not.

great review, one of the best this year :D

Dont know if i'd have been able to stay in space when p diddy was on though

exactly my thoughts at the moment he went up.
I was about to call it a night but then i had hopes he will soon go down and stop MCing.

Fusion honey, what can i say, wonderfull review!

Carl Cox also played 7 Nation Army at dance valley which had the whole place going wild!

When we went in 2002 we also ended up on a wonderfull location, which used to be an old zoo just above San An, with the most amazing view of the bay. I still have the poster, and I believe its called Benimussa Hills.
