There's a program called MAME (stands for something like multiple arcade emulation) that you can download for free and then plug in the "ROMs" (basically, the old programming code) for hundreds of classic games.

There are even versions for mobile platforms (Windows mobile, Symbian, Palm) so you can play them on the go.

Donkey Kong was always a favorite.
